Get ready for some videogame buzzword bingo with this next title. Part bullet hell, part metroidvania and part deck builder is how The Knight Witch describes itself. Whilst our review is still on the way, we do know one thing for certain. The Knight Witch is out today on Xbox and PlayStation.
You play as Rayne, one of the titular Knight Witches, exploring the once peaceful world of Dungeonidas. Enemies have invaded it however, so Rayne and her Knight Witch powers must save the day. With over 40 unique spells at her disposal, she certainly has enough firepower.
However, The Knight Witch also has a morality system. Rayne will sometimes be summoned to press conferences to discuss how her fight is going. Does she tell the truth if things aren’t going as well as expected, or put on a brave face? The choices will ultimately be yours. But when your efforts will be rewarded, sometime a little white lie may be beneficial.
The Knight Witch also features a range of accessibility features including auto aim, increased navigational aids and ‘cheat’ codes for those that are really struggling. Add to that a gorgeous looking hand drawn aesthetic and The Knight Witch is looking like another winner from Team17 and their publishing arm.
