Antstream Arcade Super Turrican is a new Factor 5 addition

Antstream Arcade is already full of some classic games of years gone by. But today it expands its library once more, adding in a number of games from Factor 5.

The world’s largest officially licensed retro gaming platform, Antstream Arcade is a godsend for many, providing hours of fun and hundreds of games for a low fee. We have been big fans ever since Antstream Arcade hit Xbox back in mid-2023.

Now that service expands. And it is doing so with contributions from Factor 5, coming in the form of Super Turrican: Score Attack; a single-level variant of Super Turrican from SNES. There’s also Katakis (a horizontally scrolling Amiga shooter), complemented by a re-released version in the form of Denaris. Rounding things out is Masterblazer, a futuristic sport sequel to Ballblazer.

Why have Factor 5 games been added?

“We are extremely happy to join the Antstream roster with a mix of Factor 5 titles. From our first game, presented in its two incarnations Katakis & Denaris, to the latest, the one-level Score Attack remix of Super Turrican. For serious Factor 5 archeologists there are Indiana Jones – Greatest Adventures and now, in the form of the intro sequence of Masterblazer, the surviving fragment of our aborted Return to Fractalus Amiga 3D-title – which 8 years later would be re-imagined as Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. And please stay tuned since this initial set is only the beginning.” said co-founder of Factor 5, Julian Eggebrecht.

Antstream offers a seamless and accessible way for gamers to enjoy retro classics anytime, anywhere. With its cloud gaming technology, Antstream enables players to dive into Factor 5’s legendary titles on a variety of devices, from PCs and laptops to mobile phones and consoles – including that of Xbox. Whether revisiting childhood favourites or discovering these classics for the first time, Antstream provides a nostalgic journey through gaming history.

“We’re excited to welcome Factor 5’s esteemed titles to Antstream,” said CEO Steve Cottam of Antstream Arcade. “Factor 5’s contributions to gaming are legendary, and we’re honoured to preserve and share these timeless experiences with our community of retro gaming enthusiasts.”

How to play Antstream Arcade

If you want to get involved in the news games from Antstream Arcade, head over to the Xbox Store. A couple of options exist as you look to play on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S but we think the £79.99 Lifetime Pass is a no-brainer. You can download on PC too.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
