How do you follow a month in which free games starring Batman, Sonic, Shantae and Castlevania are given away? Well, you drop some zero-costs on to the likes of Project Cars 2, Fable Anniversary and more. Just like the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for April 2020 is doing.
The announcement of the latest batch of free Xbox 360 and Xbox One titles via the Xbox Games With Gold scheme is one that is highly anticipated in the Xbox gamers’ calendar, and even though the brilliance of Xbox Game Pass has overshadowed the joy that Games With Gold brings, there is still nothing quite like being able to action a free download of a new game or four. And with the arrival of April 2020 just around the corner, the latest set of freebies from Xbox HQ have been confirmed.
They are:
- Project Cars 2 – Xbox One – 1st-30th April 2020
- Knights of Pen and Paper Bundle – Xbox One – 16th April – 15th May 2020
- Fable Anniversary – Xbox 360 – 1st-15th April 2020
- Toybox Turbos – Xbox 360 – 16th-30th April 2020
Should you be the holder of a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription, and fancy getting your indoor kicks sorted with a few new gaming experiences then the Xbox Games With Gold scheme will happily sort you out. In fact, all you need to do in order to grab your freebies is to head to the Xbox Store between the dates shown above, hit the purchase button, and wait for your download to take place – and in fact both Project Cars 2 and Fable Anniversary have already had their prices removed. Fail to do so in the specified time frame and sorry, but you’ll have missed out and the games will be found back up at their usual prices.
Of course, as with every month, the arrival of some new Xbox games means that the older, previous, drops will soon be removed. If you haven’t yet done so then we’d highly advise you to pick up your downloads of Batman: The Enemy Within – The Complete Season on Xbox One, and Sonic Generations on Xbox 360 at the earliest opportunity. Don’t say we haven’t warned you.
The question on the lips of every gamer though is whether or not this latest batch of Games With Gold titles is appreciated, or whether the big dogs back at Microsoft could have done more. From where we’re sat, anything free is always hugely appreciated and we’re never going to complain about being gifted a thing, especially when it lets us enjoy the Fable universe again. But let us know your thoughts. Do the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for April 2020 suit your needs? Are there specific games that you’re holding out on? The comments section is down below and we’re available on all the usual social channels.
