We’re big fans of how E-Line Media work their way through the games industry, harnessing the power of games to help gamers understand the world around them. They succeeded with the brilliant Never Alone, and are looking to find success once more with the upcoming Beyond Blue. Today though it’s all about the incredible talent who will be voicing the game, with a stunning cast of voice talent unveiled.
E-Line Media have worked with the BBC in development of Beyond Blue, as they go about giving gamers the chance to explore and uncover the secrets of Earth’s last uncharted frontier. Pushing us beneath the waves to take in what the ocean has to offer, Beyond Blue will be found telling the tale of a crew of scientists who are out to test their own ‘Ocean Sense Network’, something which has the power to literally shine a light on the unexplored depths of the ocean in order to unravel its endless mysteries.
Coming to console and PC in late 2019, Beyond Blue will focus on the Western Pacific Ocean amid a large multispecies gathering of cetaceans and other creatures. It is here where players will step into the shoes (and flippers) of Mirai, as they use technology to better understand the urgent threats facing these blue depths. But it’s not just about the gameplay and as we progress we will uncover never-before-seen footage licensed from BBC Studios’ Blue Planet II, expanding upon the game’s story and educating players about the social and emotional lives of whales – the creatures with the biggest brains on the planet.
But enough of what Beyond Blue is about, what about this voice cast? Well, the upcoming underwater narrative adventure game will play host to a core cast led by Anna Akana (Awkward, Ant-Man), Hakeem Kae-Kazim (Hotel Rwanda, Black Sails), Mira Furlan (Babylon 5, Lost), and Ally Maki (Big Bang Theory, Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger). Pretty big names, huh?
Well, you can see how this team have got to work on Beyond Blue by checking out the trailer below, as it teases the story. Hit it up, and let us know if you’ll be deep diving later this year when the game releases.
