What can you do with 1-bit visuals? Well, if you’re those behind Binarystar Infinity, quite a lot it seems.
Available to purchase and download on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S right now is Binarystar Infinity. Strangely, this is the second game of the day to release on the Xbox Store via the Forever Entertainment and Storm Trident teams (following on from the completely different Baby Storm) to this time deliver a 1-bit shooter to the masses.
Priced at £4.19, Binarystar Infinity is certainly cheap enough to warrant a look and some interest. And if you take in the trailer and screens shown on the Xbox Store as read, you’ll probably find something that belies that price point.
Binarystar Infinity whisks us off to future years, stardate 2258.42 in fact, as you join the Binarystar Space force, looking to fight back against enemies from space. In fact, you’re in charge of this space force and so your calls will dictate whether humanity lives or dies.
It plays out in the most simple of ways, as a 1-bit shoot ’em up, but it really does look very good, seemingly running smooth, offering up tons of shooting opportunities. It also brings handcrafted levels to the party, as well as bosses, a local co-op chance (with Friendly Fire on if you so desire) and more.
Should you be down with the side-scrolling shmup scene and fancy taking in something that is a) cheap and b) different, then Binarystar Infinity should be on your wishlist. Grab it from the Xbox Store to play on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S.
