Travel to the weird and wonderful town of Polta Kolta with KEMCO’s newest release, The Smile Alchemist.
In The Smile Alchemist you play as Nayc, a young boy who starts his tuition under a master alchemist to follow his dream of becoming the best alchemist in the world and keep a promise to a dear friend.
Releasing on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, The Smile Alchemist is a story-driven alchemy simulator where you learn how to make a range of items that you can use yourself, gift to people in the town or sell to make some cash – essential if you want to buy more supplies and recipes and progress in the game.
To make your items you can hire adventurers from the local tavern to scour the surrounding area to find ingredients, or buy what you need from the town’s shop. You will also need a recipe, which you get by buying recipe books. Back at your home, you follow the recipe, add the ingredients into your Alchemy Pot and… abracadabra! your items will magically appear.
Underpinning The Smile Alchemist is an entertaining and heart-warming story, which is revealed just like the story in a novel, with chapters that chart Nayc’s progress through his fledgling career in alchemy. Progressing to the next chapter unlocks new tasks to carry out and new items that you can make.
Being an alchemist is a tough job, so as well as your main job of crafting items, Nayc gets the chance to unwind a bit by taking part in additional side stories, exploring the town to meet its various residents (some of which are talking animals) and play fun mini-games to collect materials.
