Prepare to descend into the depths of a haunted island that’s rife with tainted souls lurking in the darkness and scour the lands for equipment to better your chances of survival. This is Salt and Sanctuary on Xbox One and it’s going to be brutal…
The protagonist of Salt and Sanctuary, a sailor, washes ashore after an ill-fated journey at sea leaves their ship and crew annihilated by a terrible creature. Once on the island, an old man gives you the mantle of the Saltborn, proceeding to offer riddles about buried secrets cursing these lands. But what haunting past are these monstrosities trying to prevent the Saltborn from discovering? That’s the mystery you must solve whilst embracing the heart-racing combat and looting whatever you can to succeed in doing so.
With vicious enemies on the prowl, all waiting to take down the Saltborn, the aim is to overcome over twenty horrible bosses by wielding a vast array of weaponry and wearing the best armor for the situations at hand. You could deploy Fire and Sky spells to scorch and shock the opposition, but you must also be wary of leaning too far towards either element in order to avoid neglecting elemental balance.
The 2D hand-drawn action-RPG experience of Salt and Sanctuary won’t be easy, but if you’re up to the challenge, then there are a selection of extra modes that’ll really put your skills to the test; such as no-blocking and permadeath modes. All you need to do to get involved is head on over to the Xbox Store and purchase it for the price of £14.39!

Game Description:
A doomed sailor is shipwrecked on an uncharted island. In fog-shrouded valleys, where grinning, mossy corpses cling to rusted arms, shambling figures begin to stir. Beneath crumbling, salt-worn structures, labyrinthine passageways lead to unspeakable evil, long forgotten by man. Salt and Sanctuary seamlessly combines fast, brutal, and complex 2D combat with richly developed RPG mechanics. Discover, craft, and upgrade over 600 weapons, armor pieces, spells, and items as you explore a cursed realm of forgotten cities, blood-soaked dungeons, desecrated monuments, and the fallen lords they once celebrated. From Ska Studios, the award-winning indie studio behind a long list of stylistic, visceral, and brutally executed action titles that includes The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, and Charlie Murder, comes Salt and Sanctuary, the studio’s most ambitious title to date.
