Overcooked! set things out for starters and Brunch Club followed up with the main course. Now though Cake Bash is going all in with the dessert as the sweetest four-player party title yet has got itself a fully confirmed release date on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. And you really won’t have to wait too long to experience the taste for yourself.

Due to arrive on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia on October 15th 2020, with compatibility with Xbox Series X|S and PS5 occurring further down the line, Cake Bash from those at Coatsink and High Tea Frog looks like it’s going to deliver a delicious party experience. But you know that, right – because you played the recent demo on Xbox One, yeah?

With a Nintendo Switch edition rolling out a little later down the line (before the end of 2020 is a promise), Cake Bash will see you frantically fighting it out with others in a four-player party affair where the most adorable of cakes come to life in order to beat the crumbs out of each other.

This will mean picking your favourite cake and getting on with the battle – no matter whether you are looking to cover yourself in sweets, or wish to fill a fruit pie, Cake Bash has got you sorted.

Expect to find a ton of mini-games included here as you attempt to roast perfect marshmallows, pipe the finest frosting, or become the last flan standing in Fork Knife. Whatever you’re playing, you’ll be able to dress up your cakes to make them look ever more tasty too, with you buying a variety of delicious toppings in Get Tasty!

Cake Bash on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia (and we guess Nintendo Switch when that drops), will let you enjoy all this party madness either with local friends, or via the online scene. The promise of well-baked bots being thrown in too is just the icing on the cakey Cake Bash cake.

‘We’ve worked hard to capture the joy from the special games we loved as children, and absolutely can’t wait to see players enjoying Cake Bash soon!” – Laura Hutton, Co-Founder – High Tea Frog

We’ll be sure to remind you when Cake Bash starts cooking on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. It may well be worth your while calling a few mates and getting them set for October 15th 2020. The only question will be who wants to play as the French Fancies!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
