When the aliens attack Earth and turn everyone into zombies, there's only one thing for it - you grab your biggest guns and fight back. Yep, this one is all about the Zombies, Aliens and Guns!
We'd never heard of Flight School Studio prior to their release of the superb Creature in the Well back in 2019, but with that game finding huge success, we're super excitedly for anything that follows it. And that game is Stonefly, out now on Xbox, Switch, PlayStation and PC.
Dreamworks games may not be for everyone, and there's a good chance that you'll need to be fully invested in to the base material to really make the most of what they deliver, but when they do drop, you can be sure they are able to provide a fun, wild adventure that fans will lap up. That's most probably going to be the case for Dreamworks Spirit Lucky’s Big Adventure too, as it releases on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Those with a love for dinosaurs are well catered for in the gaming market. There's the stunning Jurassic World Evolution which lets you build your very own Jurassic Park. Then there's the recently released Second Extinction which tasks you and some mates with surviving in a mutated landscape. And then in 2022, Dinos Reborn will launch, as will the successor to the iconic Dino Crisis, Instinction. But if you're still holding out for some dino-fuelled gaming experiences, the launch of Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunt may well scratch an itch. Are you ready to join the hunt?
There are some games that need no introduction, and after reaching iconic status since the first release way back in 1985, Ghosts 'N Goblins is one such game. After wowing the gaming audiences for decades since, it's now time to reboot the legendary series as Ghosts 'N Goblins Resurrection begins to raise the dead on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
If you're a fan of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, then there are many options open to you; the most recent ones being Necromunda: Underhive Wars, Warhammer: Chaosbane Slayer Edition or Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus. But perhaps none of them are as intense, as brutal and as fast-paced as Necromunda: Hired Gun.
There's a pretty solid chance that you've happened upon My Child Lebensborn previously. You see, not only has it picked up some stunning reviews on mobile, but it was awarded a BAFTA for Games Beyond Entertainment. There is therefore much interest now that it has launched on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
My most abiding memory of this Dead Island is actually of the trailer. You see, back in 2011, I was so over zombie games; I felt like they were just another tired old video game trope that had had their day. And then, almost out of nowhere, appeared this video that piqued my interest.
It’s been over six months now since the launch of the Xbox Series X|S and, aside from the short supply of consoles, the transition to this new generation has gone rather well for Microsoft. With no bundled Kinect, no unwanted TV features, and simultaneously having the most powerful and cheapest consoles on the market, Xbox has done a much better job with this console launch than they did back in 2013. There’s only one thing missing from this almost perfect launch, the games.
Forget all those too-big-to-fail AAA games, blending together to become a flavourless broth of open worlds and 100-hour campaigns. It’s the next tier down where the real juice is: where you’ll find the wacky high concepts, the left-field experiences, the bad voiceovers. We’re not afraid to say it: we love the AA game. Yes, it’s our way of saying that there’s no real blockbuster releasing in June 2021. Welcome to the quiet before the E3 storm. This is the month for niche re-releases, unexpected sequels, weirdo indies and abstract RPGs.
