For years we’ve been told that the choices made in The Walking Dead will affect many different aspects, ensuring that the story told is one unique to ourselves. But Telltale Games are mixing things up for The Walking Dead: The Final Season, by introducing a full Online Story Builder into play.
The Final Season will arrive on August 14th 2018, concluding the stunning Telltale Games experience that has spanned many months and years. And whilst you can ensure that any previous decisions – those found in the seasons that have come before it – will be imported in to the new game, there is now another way of ensuring that the tale keeps on unfolding.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season’s Online Story Builder will let you create your own custom saves, reliving the most harrowing moments of the tale so far. This will ensure you are able to produce a unique version of Clementine – one that can later be imported into the game itself and reflected in The Final Season.
Available right now, heading into the Story Builder will see you given the opportunity to sign in with your Telltale Games Account, saving your results to the cloud. By then logging in to this account when playing The Final Season on PC, Xbox One, or PS4, you will be able to download your Story Builder choices into the game.
Alternatively, should you wish to run down the normal route, you can import your existing series save files into the game.
But in addition to building a custom choice profile, those who prefer to complete the online Story Builder, will also receive a downloadable poster that reflects their individual choices, with 32 total poster variations available. These have been created by Telltale’s Todd Pound, while visuals for the Story Builder itself were crafted by noted comic book artist Dan Panosian and animator Daniel Kanemoto – Daniel animated the very first The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series trailer in 2012.
With the first episode of The Final Season becoming available from August 14th on Xbox One, PS4 and PC (with a Switch version arriving later in the year), you really should go and take a little look at the Story Builder right now… if only so you can mess around with the multitude of options that are available.
