It may be a fair few years old, but the epic RPG that is Dragon Age Origins is now available via the Games with Gold scheme. You know what that means? It’s free!
The dark and gritty fantasy RPG from Bioware, Dragon Age Origins, follows the tale of a Grey Warden – one of the remaining guardians of a legendary order. A rising evil is threatening to destroy all life and it is up to the player to make sacrifices, unite the lands and slay the corrupted dragon known as the Archdemon. Along the way, critical choices must be made which can affect the player and those around them. The life of the chosen one is never easy.
Those looking to purchase Dragon Age Origins on Xbox 360 would ordinarily have to pay £14.99 for the privilege, but for the rest of June it’ll be completely stripped of its price tag due to the magic of Games With Gold. Furthermore, it’s also available on Xbox One thanks to the Backwards Compatibility scheme.
You can find out exactly what we think of June 2017’s Xbox Games With Gold offerings in our in-depth article, however, you should first get yourself over to the Xbox Games Store and start downloading it!
Game Description:
From the makers of Mass Effect comes the dark fantasy epic: You are a Grey Warden, one of the last of a legendary order of guardians. With the return of mankind’s ancient foe and the kingdom engulfed in civil war, you have been chosen by fate to unite the shattered lands and slay the archdemon once and for all. (1) Immerse yourself in a shattered world on the brink of annihilation; (2) Experience complex moral decisions that have game-changing consequences; (3) Sculpt your hero in your own image or fantasy; (4) Engage in bone-crushing, visceral combat against massive and terrifying creatures
I’m playing it as we speak, (text).
I’m working my way through Inquisition so it’ll be good seeing what the older game is like in comparison.
Although the graphics are poor by modern standards, the story outshines ANY other game by this developer. One of my all time favourite games with a couple of real ‘moments’.
Awesome game, which to my shame I never finished. I’ll be attempting to rectify that now!
