Return to the streets of Kamurocho in this grittier and darker Yakuza spin-off, as a remastered version of Judgment arrives on Xbox Series X|S, Google Stadia and PlayStation 5.

Judgment isn’t your typical Yakuza game. There may still be plenty of bad guy bashing whilst roaming the streets, but you are a detective on the hunt to uncover the mystery behind a series of gruesome murders. Takayuki Yagami – once an established lawyer – has fallen on hard times and now makes ends meet as a private detective. With his former yakuza partner, Masaharu Kaito, Yagami must use his skills as a detective to investigate crime scenes, track down suspects and discover clues on his quest for redemption.

Judgment is also playable in dual audio. The standard Japanese is still present with subtitles, but there is also English dubbing if that isn’t your cup of tea!

It still contains the typical hallmarks of Yakuza games though. The streets of Kamurocho are fully realised with 60FPS, faster loading times and improved visuals that only the next-gen can provide. But Yagami still has plenty of down time to visit the arcades and casinos, side quests including chasing after a man’s toupee and various NPCs to take out on dates.

Described as “the best crime drama not on TV” by the Hollywood Reporter, this remastered version of Judgment arrives on Xbox Series X|S priced at £34.99 from the Xbox Store. We will have a review coming very soon but if you have ever played a Yakuza game, you know what to expect. But for now, let us know in the comments your favourite Yakuza game.

You’ll also find the game rocking on PS5 and Google Stadia.

Haunted by his past, he takes up arms as a private detective, clawing his way through Kamurocho’s underground crime network to investigate a string of grisly murders. In this psychological thriller, the balance between justice and mercy teeters on the edge. Track suspects, discover clues, and bring evidence to court – but be careful, there are dark characters at every turn. Can you distinguish between friend and foe? Take advantage of two unique battle styles to take down adversaries in electrifying encounters. Packed with Hollywood-worthy combat sequences and cinematic twists and turns, this mystery will surely keep you on your toes. This upgraded version of Judgment contains all previously released DLC and improved visuals.
