Experience Transient like never before with the Extended Edition on PC and console

-

transient extended edition

It first released on PC back in 2020, picking up a mixed set of reviews in the process. Now though it’s time to experience Transient like you’ve never been able to before, as the Extended Edition moves onto PC via a free update, along with launch on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch.

Available to purchase and download right now is Transient: Extended Edition. Present and downloadable from the storefronts of Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch, as well as still being freely available on PC through Steam, this Extended Edition takes the original game and mixes things up ever so slightly.

Priced at £16.74 from the Xbox Store (you should expect that price to vary a little depending on your format of choice), Transient: Extended Edition sees Iceberg Interactive and Stormling Studios push forth with their game, moving it into pastures new.

It’s a Lovecraftian, cyberpunky, horror adventure, one that comes about via the creators of Conarium and Darkness Within as players are whisked off to a post-apocalyptic future and left to try to make sense of the limitations of the human race.

Taking both the Lovecraft feel and mixing it with that of a cyberpunk world is a brave move, but it seems to work here in Transient: Extended Edition, with everything helped along neatly by the introduction of 4K visuals, HDR support, multiple save slots and improved feedback in terms of both controller and the force used through it.

In fact, from the outside looking in, the opportunity to join Randolph Carter on a bit of a journey is one that looks ever intriguing, however we would wholly advise you to check out our full review of Transient: Extended Edition on Xbox Series X|S prior to dropping your cash.

If you are sold though, you’ll find the downloads you need available from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, the PlayStation Store for PS4 and PS5, the Nintendo eShop for Switch and, of course, on Steam for PC players.

The key features of the game include:

  • HP LOVECRAFT MEETS CYBERPUNK – Experience a never-before seen blend between H.P. Lovecraft’s cosmic existentialism and a grim, dystopian cyberpunk setting. Transient adapts and expands upon seminal pieces of both genres to ensure that your experience is both familiar and fresh at the same time.
  • DISCOVER FRACTURED REALITIES – From the forgotten wastes of Kor Shehr to the mean streets of Providence, Transient is filled to the brim with unforgettable locations to traverse. Explore reality, your own dreams, and the virtual world to meet a diverse cast of friends, foes, and beings in between.
  • ESCAPE YOUR OWN REALITY – Combining a swath of beautiful environments with a haunting original soundtrack creates an immersive experience.
  • AUGMENTED MAN ON A MISSION – You assume the role of Randolph Carter, a man equipped (read: augmented) for the job. Use your advanced perception heightening implant, PHI, to investigate your surroundings, scan for clues, and hack your way past barriers preventing you from uncovering the truth.

Let us know if you decide to grab this one.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
