Feel the power of Serious Sam 4 on Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass

Call it a stealth drop if you must, or point to it being sent live a little earlier than planned, but Serious Sam 4 is delivering some serious power to Xbox Series X|S, making the most of Game Pass glories in the process.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox Series X|S and PC – there is no Xbox One love here – along with free love through Xbox Game Pass, Serious Sam 4 breaks free from the exclusivity shackles of Google Stadia to allow players the opportunity to once again step into the shoes of Serious Sam.

Priced at £33.49 should you purchase the Serious Sam 4 Launch Bundle – a bundle which includes the previously released Serious Sam Collection – or available as a separate download through Game Pass, Serious Sam 4 allows the Croteam team to pop up onto console with their latest SS effort.

This one will have you joining Sam Stone once again, but old ‘Serious’ himself is up against it once more. Yep, you guessed it, humanity is under threat, the world is a broken place and there is only one man for the saving job – Sam.

Thankfully the Earth Defence Force tags along for the ride, but what this all means is that the usual Serious Sam staples of high-action, blast ’em all, gameplay will play out. There are new enemies present this time around (those which we haven’t seen in the franchise before), along with an arsenal of weapons that is nothing but immense. Throw in some cooperative action and a new Legion System and Serious Sam 4 should well be one to check out.

The key features you’re looking for include…

  • HORDES OF INVADERS – The iconic cast of alien invaders returns with some new reinforcements! Fight your way through unbelievable numbers of Mental’s minions including the iconic Headless Kamikaze, Beheaded Rocketeer, Kleer, Scrapjack, Werebull, and Khnum! Square off against brand new enemies and towering monsters like the frantic Processed, repulsive Belcher, the hard-hitting Zealot, and more.
  • EXPLOSIVE ARSENAL – Armed with a slew of devastating weapons, pick your tool for any situation. Lay waste to Mental’s Horde using the powerful double-barreled shotgun, the punishing minigun, the powerful chainsaw launcher, a brand new auto shotgun, and the iconic cannon. Upgrade your toys, and enjoy the violent beauty of the lock-on rocket launcher, and the mighty laser beam of death.
  • COOPERATIVE MAYHEM – Smash through the action-packed campaign with friends in 4-player online co-op mode! Tackle exciting primary missions and thrilling side quests in modified difficulties for an extra challenge.
  • LEGION SYSTEM – Serious Sam 4 unleashes some of the biggest moments in the series’ history with the new Legion System and battlefields teeming with thousands of enemies!

Whether you pay up for the Serious Sam 4 Launch Bundle or make the most of what is available on Game Pass is totally your call. Just head over to the Xbox Store on those links provided and the download you are looking for will be yours.

Keep an eye out for a full review of Serious Sam 4 from us soon, but in the meantime, pop into the comments and let us know your thoughts on this ‘stealth’ drop.

Game Description:

Humanity is under siege as the full force of Mental’s hordes spread across the world, ravaging what remains of a broken and beaten civilization. The last remaining resistance to the invasion is the Earth Defence Force led by Sam “Serious” Stone and his heavily-armed squad of misfit commandos. Croteam returns with a high-powered prequel to the Serious Sam series that scales up chaos to unprecedented levels. The classic Serious Sam formula is revamped by putting an unstoppable arsenal up against an unimaginable number of enemies that requires players to circle-strafe and backpedal-blast their way out of impossible situations.
