It is still the 28th Series in Forza Horizon 5 and it is winter yet again this week, which does seem to have confused the erstwhile editor of this very website, judging by the messages I got last week!

Basically, it appears that Mexico has turned into Narnia, under the control of the Ice Queen, in that it is always Winter and yet no Christmas…Well, not for a couple of weeks anyway!

So, with the dawning of Winter: Part 2 (The Revenge?) here we go again with a breakdown of the cars and tunes we need in order to complete the Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 28 Winter Part 2. Strap yourselves in!

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Welcome BAC

The weekly challenge car for Series 28 – Winter is a BAC Mono, one of the cars that I would never have in real life, if only because there’s nowhere to stick my fishing gear!

Should you not have one in your garage, the Autoshow can’t seem to hook you up so I guess a trip to the auction house is in your future! Although the Forzathon shop has the car for 350 FP, if you have enough.

Chapter 1 – Briggs Automotive Company

I guess that is what BAC stands for, eh?

Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete!

Chapter 2 – Race Car for the Roads

To test this car’s acceleration, we have to earn 5 Great Speed skills. Basically, launch the car hard and keep the throttle pinned. A nice long runway will be just the ticket…

Chapter 3 – BAC on Track

Simply now win a Road Race anywhere you fancy. A nice short circuit track does this car proud, and stock trim is fine.

Chapter 4 – Totally Tubular

Dude! Take a photo now, and the job is a good ‘un.

Complete these tasks and we will be 5 points closer to the seasonal prizes!

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

So, with the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer, shall we?

Three Eventlab bits this week does make me a bit less happy though. Let’s hope this pattern isn’t repeated all the way through the Series, eh? I don’t want to get week 4 and find nothing but bloody Eventlabs…

The Trial – We Could Be Heroes

No sign of any Bowie in this event, which is always a missed opportunity.

The class we need is A Class 800, and the type of cars is Homologation Heroes. Basically a car that enables a company to go motor racing!

I chose a BMW M3 GTR, and the share code is : 198385025.

The team I found this last week for the Trial were poor at first, and everyone quit, but the second team came through. You guys rock, whoever you are!

Should we manage to win two out of three races, a Mercedes Benz GTR is ours.

Eventlab 1 – IMPACTREDFINED Presents – Laderas Grand Prix

A Modern Supercar with a tuning limit of S1 Class 900 means this should be pretty rapid. I went for a Nissan GT-R Black Edition and the share code is : 394811233.

A very long lap with a good mix of high and low speed corners, this is pretty fun. Not sure how many GP tracks let you slide wide into a tree, though…

The prize for completing this race is a Porsche Cayenne.

Eventlab 2 – XRCOSWORTH01 Presents – Ninja Marv Muddy Mangos

Not sure who Ninja Marv is, but never mind.

We need a Modern Rally or Rally Monster car for this Eventlab, and the tuning limit is A Class 800. Sounds like a job for the Cossie V2 from Hoonigan, no? My share code is : 140648350.

The track itself is okay, but the decorations that are in the jungle make it really annoying – why put massive, car killing lumps of concrete on the apex of bends? Bonkers.

Take away a Super Wheelspin for completing this one.

Eventlab 2 – PATO BINCIDI Presents – GP Goyta Full

No idea what this is about, but there is a need for an S2 Class Extreme Track Toy car and so it should be over pretty fast! I went with a Bugatti Divo, share code : 169915677.

Not a bad track, but far too twisty and tight for this class of car. It felt like the Divo barely got into third gear before I had to brake.

For completing this event, the prize is a Holiday Tree Outfit. Guess that must be a bit like a Christmas Tree, no?

PR Stunt 1 –  Speed Trap – Pyramid of the Sun

Each PR Stunt needs a different car this week, just for a change. This one needs a C Class 600 Chevy Nova, and it needs to be capable of doing more than 100 mph to win. The share name for mine is “Nova” with Gt Red620Ti.

Approach from the north and keep in as straight a line as possible for best results.

We get a Super Wheelspin in return though. Yep, another week and we’re back in that circle of endless Super Wheelspins.

PR Stunt 2 -Speed Zone – Ladera

This time the car we need is an A Class 800 Ford Focus from 2017, and the share code  for mine is : 151963655.

We need to average over 90 mph through the zone, which is a lot easier said than done. Approaching from the south is a tad easier as it is downhill.

Another Super Wheelspin awaits.

PR Stunt 3 – Drift Zone – Las Curvas

A B Class Fairlady Z ‘94 is needed here (better known in the UK as a 300ZX) and a target of 80,000 drift points sounds like my idea of a good time!

The share name for mine is “300ZX” with my GT, Red620Ti.

Yet another Super Wheelspin awaits.I have used all the unspun wheelspins and gifted all the cars I received to try and win the Secret Santa cars. I urge you to do the same!

Seasonal Championship 1 – Dish the Dirt

Offroad races and a Retro Muscle car tuned to B Class 700 don’t sound like ideal bed fellows, do they?

Still, I went with a Mustang, as always, and this time it was the SVO from 1986. Look for “SVO B” as a share name with Red620Ti as the author.

For winning out, we can take home a Corvette from 1995. Better than a wheelspin, or a poke in the eye!

Seasonal Championship 2 – Whats the Miata?

Can you guess what car we need to use this time? Yes, it’s an MX-5, and the tuning limit is B Class 700. The code for mine is : 133412220. This is the 1994 model, for the avoidance of doubt.

Should we win out, a Mazda Rx-7 R will be a nice thing to take home..

Seasonal Championship – An Oldie but a Goodie

I feel seen with this title!

We need a Classic Racer, and we need to have a tune up to B Class 700. I went for an Alfa Romeo 33 Stradle to try and compete. Loads more power and stock tyres, what could go wrong?

Look for share name “AR33” with my GT, Red620Ti. Apparently “33” is a rude word…

For winning out, a Lola T70 will be the take away.

Part 3: Other Challenges

There’s always more to get involved in than just the racing, and that is the case again this week with Series 28 Winter: Part 2.

There’s the Photo Challenge, and a Collectible challenge, in addition to some Eliminator. We’re not going to be getting bored!

Photo Challenge – #STORMINATEACUP

We have to photograph a car with a stormy name, in the secret cave at Ek Balam. I’m guessing a GMC Syclone will count?

See up top for my artistic effort, and below for the location.

The reward? A new bit of clothing, a Holiday Jumper.. How festive.

The Eliminator – Battle Royale

Usual story here, survive into the top 30 of competitors by hiding in a bush. Well, that’s how I do it!

Should we do it, a new Forzalink phrase “I am become meme” will be ours. Why would you ever want to say that?

Collectible Challenge – Snowman Smash

Someone has made snowmen at the Winter Wonderland Stadium, and to reward their efforts, we have to smash ten of them. I’ll post a pic of what they look like below.

For doing so, we too can have a Sad snowman Head. Nope, still dinosaurs for me!

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger sign – Forest Leap

For this event, it is a Honda NSX-R from 1992 that gets the nod, and the tuning limit is A Class 800. Look for share name “NSX”.

This time we need to leap over 315 m, and a good run up is required. Good job the old NSX is pretty light, eh? Approaching from the east seems to give the best results, but there aren’t any straight run ups to the ramp, sadly.

A Super Wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – Hyped for the Holidays

I certainly am!

However, we need to use an S2 Class 998 Hypercar for this bunch of races, and that means it is time for the old faithful Koenigsegg Agera Rs, and the share code for mine is : 109282883.

Completing the championship will get us a Mercedes Benz SLK which is nice.

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…

Seasonal PR Stunt -Speed Trap – Canyon Rush

The restriction here is a Peugeot 205 Rallye and a tuning limit of C Class 600. Look for share name 205 with my GT, Red620Ti.

We need to hit the trap at over 120 mph, Approaching from the south seems easier.

The prize is another Super Wheelspin. Sigh.

Seasonal Championship – Rap-Tor Battle

Believe it or not, we need to use a Ford Raptor for this series, tuned up to B Class 700.

I used the Bronco Raptor, which sounds like a hybrid too far, and the share name is Bronco R.

For winning out, we can take away an Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

With Series 28 well underway there are new reward cars to aim at – a Porsche MissionR for 80 points, and for 160 pts it is a Koenigsegg Agera.

There are also two cars as an extra bonus to aim at, with gifts being sent the key. The first is an exclusive GMA T.50, and the second is also exclusive, but a secret for now. Get sending gifts! We have already sent enough to receive the first car (check the Gifts tab under messages) and the second will soon be revealed I feel certain.

If you need a few extra points to get you over the line, the monthly Rivals challenges are here; Marigold Sprint for proper cars, as well as the new Winter Wonderland Circuit. Stick some clean laps in and Bob should be the brother of your mother. 4 points are on offer if you return clean laps for each one, so worth having a go at!

Grab enough points and Series 28 Winter: Part 2 (remember, every season is Winter this time around) also sees you given access to the exclusive Morgan Aero GT for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get a No.100 Lynk&Co 03.

Stick around if you need guides to the rest of the Series, as it is revealed each Thursday I’ll do my best to keep you abreast of what you need and what you need to do.

To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.

Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
