It is supposed to be Spring outside my window, and yet the weather looks a lot more like Autumn. This is a handy link to the new season of Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges of Forza Horizon 5 – Series 31 Autumn. And so it will serve as an introduction to this week’s festivities.
Series 31 Autumn brings with it the usual mixture of events to have a crack at, and the chance for me to suggest a couple of cars and tunes to help you out. So let’s dive in!
Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – High Fidelity
It seems that for European, we should read Italian, as this week’s challenge car is the Lancia Stratos HF Stradale. Built to go rallying, then adapted for the road, this is apparently one of the new era of cars that did this.
Should you not have one in your garage, then it is available in the Autoshow. It’s a mere 550,000 credits to boot!
Chapter 1 – A New Era
Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete!
Chapter 2 – Stratosphere
As the prototype for this car looked like a spaceship, allegedly, we now need to earn three air skills. Jump off some stuff!
Chapter 3 – Five Times
Even though only 500 road cars were built, it still won the Tour de France Car (didn’t know there was such a thing, to be honest). To celebrate this feat, we now need to win a dirt race. Look for share code : 873213969 for a sedate, C Class experience.
Chapter 4 – Purpose Built
Simply get two stars at Trailblazers for the final step. Malpais off the highway is nice and short.
Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 31.
Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts
So, with the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.
The Trial, two Eventlabs, PR Stunts and a couple of Seasonal Championships this week. And lots and lots of Seasonal Games!
The Trial – Magical Trevor
This week we find ourselves limited to European Track Toys, and the tuning limit is pretty high at S1 Class 900. Hang on tight!
I went with a Porsche 911 GT2 RS from 2012, share code : 129256081.
The prize for managing to find people who actually want to race is a TVR Sagaris from 2003.
Eventlab 1 – R4GD33204 Presents – Ramen Autodromo
The category for this one is European Modern Supercars, and the tuning limit is again S1 Class 900. I went with an Audi R8 V10 from 2013, share code : 646685057.
I’m not a fan of any course where you can fall off and not be able to get back on, and this ticks that box. Add stupidly cambered corners and elevation changes that are too sudden, and I didn’t like this one.
The prize for completing this race is a Volvo V60.
Eventlab 2 – JOH CEE Presents – Jardin Dia
European Hot Hatches for this event, to A Class 800.
I went for a Mercedes A45 AMG, share code : 160991164.
A better track, with a good flow. There are too many bits of scenery sticking out into the driving line, however.
Take away a 1965 Mini For completing it.
PR Stunt 1 – Speed Trap – Baja California
The PR Stunts this week all share a common theme – Peugeot cars, tuned to A Class 800.
The speed we need to clear is 120 mph, and so I went with a 207 Super 2000. Look for share name 2000 with my GT, Red620ti.
Do so and you’ll find a Super Wheelspin heading your way in return.
PR Stunt 2 – Speed Zone – Punto de Vista
Average speed check this time, and the target is 80 mph. I used the same car. Save the pennies, right?
Another Super Wheelspin awaits.
PR Stunt 3 – Trailblazer – Malpais
Off roading calls for the same 207, and we need to hit the finish line with over 16 seconds on the clock.
Yet another Super Wheelspin for doing this.
Seasonal Championship 1 – Exclusive Event- Cult Legends
Cult Cars tuned to a maximum of D Class 500 means this won’t be like a Fast and Furious film. I went with an Abarth 595 Esseesse from 1968. Share code for mine is : 177163642. It’s a fun little car to chuck around.
For winning out, we can take home a Citroen DS23, an exclusive car we need for the photo challenge this week. That’s lucky.
Seasonal Championship 2 – Audi Ya Like That
Rehash of a gag from last week (Series 31 – Summer, in case you were wondering), but we’ll let it slide. We need an Audi (shocking, I know!) and it has to be not only AWD but A Class 800 as well. I used a TT RS from 2010, share code : 146170671.
The prize for winning is an Audi S1.
Part 3: Other Challenges
There’s always more to get involved in than just the racing, and that is the case again this week with Series 31 – Autumn of the Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges.
What do we have? Well a photo to take, some Horizon Arcade, Open and Collectible smashing.
Photo Challenge – #DEESSE
We have to photograph a 1975 Citroen DS23 this week, anywhere we fancy. Not sure where would suit it, to be honest, I remember them being pretty pedestrian!
But enjoy my artistic effort anyways.
The reward? A new emote, Can’t Hear You. Always wanted that one.
Playground Games – Team King – King for a Day
Join some like-minded drivers to take on the challenge of playing Team King, in German cars no higher than B Class 700. I went with an Audi RS4 Avant from 2001, share code : 172973840.
The prize for completing this is 3 points towards the weekly total, which is not to be sneezed at. And a Ferrari 458 into the bargain.
Playground Games – Flag Rush – Alpha and Omega
Join some like-minded drivers to take on the challenge of playing Flag Rush, in Italian cars no higher than A Class 800. I went with a stock Lambo URus, as it is usually off road.
The prize for completing this is 3 points to the weekly total. And a Super Wheelspin
Playground Games – Survival – Big Cats, Speedy Kiwis
Join some like-minded drivers to take on the challenge of playing Survival (are you seeing a theme yet?), in cars from the UK, tuned to S1 Class 900. Not sure what that has to do with Kiwis? Anyway, I chose a bit of a left field choice, a Jaguar C-X75 in stock trim. Go big or go home, right?
The prize for completing this is 3 points to the weekly total and a Super Wheelspin, which is nice.
The Eliminator – Battle Royale
Finish in the Top 30 of the Eliminator by hiding in a bush. Works for me! They can’t eliminate you if they can’t find you, after all…
A Forzalink phrase, “Kinda Sus” will be your reward.
Part 4: Hot Wheels Events
If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.
Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Trap – Nexus View
This week we need a B Class 700 European Retro Saloon, and there is a fair bit of choice.
I plumped for an Audi RS 4 Avant from 2001, share code :172973840 and we need to hit over 138 mph to win.
A Super Wheelspin is your reward.
Seasonal Championship – Competitive Avant-age
This week we need an S1 Class 900 European Super GT, and of the choice on offer, I went for a Ferrari 812 Superfast, the same as last week. The share code is : 261040765.
Completing the championship will get us an Audi RS4 from 2006.
Part 5: Rally Adventure Events
The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…
Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Trap – Cascada Fuerte
Get ready to go slooooooow this week, with European Classic Sports Cars only tuned to D Class 500. We need to hit 80 mph, which sounds like a tall order. Best hope there’s a following wind.
I went with an Austin-Healey Sprite, and the share name is SpriteD with my GT, Red620Ti. I’m having real difficulty saving tunes today. Not sure if it’s just me?
The prize is another Super Wheelspin. Sigh.
Seasonal Championship – Peak Retro
For this event, it is a European Retro Saloon vehicle we need, tuned up to B Class 700. I went with the same car as in the Hot Wheels Speed Trap above, the RS4 Avant.
For winning, it is a Land Rover Defender that we can take away. Always wanted a Defender.
What are the rewards for Forza Horizon 5 Series 31 Autumn?
With Series 31 well under way, those season reward cars are up for grabs. And they are the Ferrari 575M for 80 points and an Audi RS6 ’21 for 160.
Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 31 too, and there are two for proper cars and two for EVs. For proper cars, we can have a crack at the Plaza Circuit and Reservorio Sprint, while the EV lovers amongst us will enjoy Tunnel Run (I still hate this track) and the Lookout circuit.
Put in a clean lap on each event to earn 4 points in total, not per race as it appears. Have you done this yet?
Grab enough points and Series 31 Autumn also sees you given access to the exclusive VW ID.4 for 20 points. Just what we need, another electric car…
Additionally, for 40 points we can get an ATS GT, a hard to find car apparently.
Tune in this time next week as the new series moves into Winter, and plenty more challenges are unveiled.
To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.
Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
