If you’re previously worked on the likes of Control, Dying Light 2, The Walking Dead and more, what would be a safe bet for your next game? Well, if you’re Fireline Games, it’s quite obvious – something that brings cooperative cosmic calamity chaos to your couch. Something like Fueled Up.
Obviously massively inspired by the likes of Overcooked!, Moving Out and Tools Up!, Fueled Up is a new couch based cooperative affair in which Fireline Games (a team of indie devs who previously had dealings with some of the biggest games of recent times) will fire players off into space, leaving them to salvage the wreckages of damaged spaceships.
It’s here, as a team, where you’ll be tasked with fueling, fixing and recovering these ships, preferably all before the evil Space Octopus which is lurking in the depths gets its tentacles on them. To do so though, you’ll also have to deal with wormholes, with asteroid showers and more.
Expect chaos in Fueled Up, much like Overcooked honed and Moving Out built on, no matter whether you play cooperatively or as a lone space fighter. Online multiplayer is promised too, as is controller sharing and the opportunity to take in a host of further challenges.
In all, the key feature set for Fueled Up comes in as:
- Intense Couch Co-op Fun – Enjoy a game where teamwork, a rapid pace, and multiple task juggling combine with heavy doses of chaos and laughter. Mix careful planning with split-second decision-making to make it back to base!
- Madcap Frantic Solo Play – Friends not available? No problem. Fueled Up plays great for the single player as well.
- Online/Local Multiplayer – Work with your crewmates in both local and online multiplayer to bring the ships back safely in one piece.
- Controller Sharing – Only one controller? No problem! Share it with your friend and save spaceships together.
- Bonus Challenges – Is returning safely not enough for you? Craving even more excitement? Each level offers extra objectives to test your skills and prove there’s no task too challenging for you and your crew!
Fueled Up will release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC later in 2022. For now, enjoy the madness of the trailer below before dropping into the comments with your thoughts.
