A couple of games move out of Game Pass

Are you a Game Pass subscriber? If so, you should be well used to the shifting of games, both in and out of the service. Today, 2 more games leave Game Pass. Will you miss them? Of course you will.

For Game Pass to stay fresh and relevant, the library of games present is continually changing. We’re seen multiple new games added in recent days – Maneater, Madden NFL 24, Indivisible – but that does mean a couple need to shift out to make room. And unfortunately, as those 2 drop out, only one more comes in.

Leaving Game Pass Today

So what’s leaving Game Pass today? Well, a couple games that you may, or may not miss. We’re pretty sure the removal of one of those, Madden NFL 22, will be fine, mostly as we’re recently had the inclusion of the more up-to-date Madden NFL 24 for our American Football needs. But perhaps the other will be a bit more missed.

That game is Soul Hackers 2.

Having launched on Xbox back in 2022, it’s about right in timing for this one to be ripped from Game Pass. But that doesn’t mean you should give up on it. We gave Soul Hackers 2 a 4/5 in review, very much enjoying the supernatural JRPG. The neat thing about it is that you don’t particularly need to be in tune with the source material either; it’s a game that does the job for everyone…

‘Whether you’re familiar with the original or not, Soul Hackers 2 is a fascinating supernatural JRPG that excels in character development and storytelling.’

Added to Game Pass Today

As we say goodbye to a couple, we welcome in a newbie to Game Pass – Space Engineers.

Extremely niche, Space Engineers comes to Game Pass on the back of a tricky launch. Admittedly that was back in 2020, as we discovered a game that failed to launch properly, full of bugs and glitches. Super complex, perhaps it has been reworked and fixed up over the four years since release, and the Game Pass addition will let us find out for free, but just be aware this may be one you’ll have to give a decent chance to.

Find Space Engineers on the Xbox Store.

What’s next for the Game Pass service?

Don’t fret over the removal of Madden NFL 22 and Soul Hackers 2 though – Game Pass has much more up its sleeve in the days, weeks and months ahead.

Whilst we wait for full March movers and shakers confirmation from Microsoft HQ, we do already know that Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is coming on March 5th. And the biggy, Diablo IV, is set to land in the scheme come March 28th. In between that? Well, expect the hugely anticipated Lightyear Frontier, albeit in Game Preview form.

Today though, it’s about the new addition to Game Pass, and the 2 games that are leaving. Will you miss either of them? Let us know in the comments. They are down below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
