Think of yourself as a bit of a speedrunner? Love nothing more than putting yourself and your skills up against the clock? The upcoming launch of OkunoKA Madness is looking very likely to be something for you.
Coming from Ignition Publishing and the Italian development team at Caracal Games, OkunoKA Madness has been built – from the ground up – for speedrunners. Running as the next evolution in the masocore platforming genre and due to launch on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in September, OkunoKA Madness will prove that heroes do not die – they just respawn.
Taking everything that was great about the original OkunoKA and dropping in a ton of new levels, bosses, features and challenges, OkunoKA Madness will attempt to deliver a more modern take on the challenge of the platforming speedrunner. In it, you’ll play as KA, a diminutive blue creature who sets out on a journey to save the world of souls from all evil. It just so happens that he wants to do it in the most stylish and fast fashion as possible.
When it launches in September on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC, OkunoKA Madness will let you play the way you want, as fast as you want. It’ll come compete with three different speedrunning modes: across all worlds, single levels, or custom level selection, leaving you complete freedom to challenge your reflexes and beat the clock.
You can throw in fully customisable global and local leaderboards, and the chance to challenge your friends – or the world – to beat your best times across more than 100 levels, as OkunoKA Madness has you jumping, running and using elemental abilities at breakneck speed to traverse a corrupted land and defeat your mortal enemy, the Os. A huge roster of new characters, all with unique abilities which transform the way you move and learn new ways to play, will also be in place, as will countless hidden secrets and insane boss fights.
Sold yet? If you are then you’ll be able to pre-order OkunoKA Madness on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch today – ahead of launch on September 8th on all formats. Those who have a copy of the original OkunoKA on Nintendo Switch will receive a free upgrade to OkunoKA Madness too.
