Can there be anything better than playing the part of the Ghostbusters in HD, with some fully remastered treats thrown in for good measure? Probably, but that’s not the point – the point is that Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC thanks to the Epic Games Store, has got a release date!

So, coming to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and everyone’s favourite PC store, the Epic Games Store, on October 4th 2019, will be Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered. With a physical boxed edition rocking up alongside the usual digital options.

Available for pre-order from today (that Xbox Store will no doubt be as good a place as any), Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is the HD re-release of the acclaimed action-adventure game featuring the original cast of Columbia Pictures’ classic films. This means you’ll get access to a unique story hand crafted from Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis that captures the supernatural comedic fun and fright fans love about the iconic franchise.

Just as Ghostbusters gears up to celebrate its 35th anniversary this year, as the new rookie on the Ghostbusters crew, you’ll team up with your favourite characters from the films, reunited by the voices of Aykroyd, Ramis, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson as Stantz, Spengler, Venkman and Zeddemore, alongside Annie Potts, Brian Doyle-Murray, William Atherton and Max von Sydow.

As you would expect to hear, Manhattan is overrun once more by ghosts, demons and other paranormal creatures unleashed by a mysterious force. Only the Ghostbusters can drive this evil back to whatever dimension it crawled from to save the Big Apple, and you’ll be left to hunt and trap a variety of ghouls and phantasms, all remastered in HD resolution.

You’ll do this by utilising cool gadgets and upgradeable weapons, partaking in thrilling boss fights and, just like the proper Ghostbusters, absolutely wrecking the destructible environments. Just make sure you take the time to scan and analyze your targets with the P.K.E. Meter and Paragoggles, then use your Proton Pack’s blast and capture streams to wrangle them into submission. Like we say, destruction.

We’ll be sure to remind you when that October 4th release comes around and us gamers are given chance to reprise the role of the Ghostbusters once more on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. For now though, who you gonna call? Well, the trailer would be a great start. I guarantee it’ll get the juices flowing.
