Mice love cheese, that is a given. So it has been documented in every cartoon since time began, so it must be. The mice in MouseCraft need your help to get to the cheese though. Inspired by the likes of Tetris and Lemmings, MouseCraft is releasing on Xbox consoles today.
MouseCraft has been puzzling players on PlayStation, PC, Nintendo and even the OUYA console since 2014. The wait to Xbox has been long, let’s hope it has been worth it.
This family friendly puzzle game has you helping a cat scientist perform experiments on mice. These experiments aren’t what you would expect from a cat though as he is trying to guide the mice to the cheese rather than simply killing them. That’s not to say this doesn’t happen though.
The mice wander along the level like Lemmings. They could hit a wall and turn around, be zapped by an electrical obstacle or fall into an acid pit. The pursuit of science isn’t without its casualties. You can stop these unnecessary deaths occurring however by placing tetromino blocks to guide the mice to the safety of the cheese. These blocks will look instantly familiar and are from where MouseCraft takes its other does of inspiration, Tetris.
These blocks can be made of different materials. Some will be explosive, others made of jelly. As you progress you will unlock different ones to use, they are all designed to help the mice reach the goal; just because they are explosive doesn’t mean that they wont help. Some casualties will be necessary, so let’s think of the greater good here.
