It’s hard to believe that it’s approaching three years since Thunderful and Megagon Industries first gave players the chance to hit the Lonely Mountains, before travelling Downhill at an astonishing rate. Since that release of the base game back in 2019, a host of content has continued to keep the downhill bike racer fresh, dragging players back in time and time again. That’s the case today too, as we head to the Misty Peak with the latest smattering of free DLC.
Spinning out to Lonely Mountains: Downhill players today, no matter whether they are on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or PC, is the next big free update for the game – Misty Peak. If you’re up for exploring a new trail, trying to beat new challenges and wish to unlock new customisation sets, then this latest DLC is going to be for you. Yep, the Graterhorn Mountain gets even bigger.
Misty Peak shows you a new side of the Graterhorn Mountain, confronting you with a treacherous new trail to overcome. It’s been built with the flair that’s won Lonely Mountains: Downhill universal acclaim – we absolutely adore this game – and so you should expect a thrilling challenge balanced by an idyllic natural setting that ticks all the boxes for picturesque pitstops, and casual exploration.
Two new rest stops sit pride of place on Misty Peak’s new trail and you can unlock the new air elemental customisation set by taking on the new challenges included in the DLC while also battling your way to the top of the leaderboards.
“Misty Peak is maybe our best trail yet and we’re already looking to seeing how our speedrunning community will surprise us and do everything they can to break it!” said Daniel Helbig, co-founder of Megagon. “Following on from Riley’s Return – our last free update – Lonely Mountain: Downhill continues to get bigger and better!”
What’s more, to celebrate the release of the Misty Peak DLC, you’ll find that there is some 40% off the Eldfjall Island DLC and the LMD Soundtrack on Steam. Eldfjall Island adds a completely new volcanic mountain to Lonely Mountains: Downhill, delivering four new trails to explore and lots of new challenges and rewards.
Lonely Mountains: Downhill and the free Misty Peak DLC is available today on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC. Download the game from the Xbox Store.
