Is there any better genre of music than metal? Don’t answer that, because there isn’t. Adding heavy metal to literally anything makes it infinitely better, it has been proven. And this latest offering fuses guitars, blast beats and growls to a roguelike. Metal Tales: Overkill launches today on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
In the moshpits of metal gigs, an evil is stirring. The God Kuk has possessed some of the greatest shredders known to man, and in turn they have been infecting the metalheads at these gigs. They are being turned into mindless zombies, stripped of their passion for thrashing and headbanging.
Only you can stop the hordes in their tracks. Choose from one of four playable characters, choose your guitar and play through procedurally generated levels to reach the metal boss at the end. What’s one guitarist though, when you can have more? Metal Tales: Overkill also features local co-op play so you can jam with friends.
As with any good roguelike, Metal Tales: Overkill will feature upgradeable abilities and unlocks, plenty of items and loot to gather and a diverse bunch of enemies to defeat. Need anything else? How about some early 3D visuals and aesthetic? Good, because it has that too.
