Quality over quantity? Why can’t we have both? With the release of WRC Generations the Nacon and KT Racing teams are hoping to be able to deliver the best – and the biggest – rally game ever made. Hold on tight, it’s time to put the pedal to the metal…
Available to purchase and download today on Xbox, PlayStation and PC, WRC Generations sees the Nacon and KT Racing teams take what they’ve learnt with the plethora of WRC titles from the years to create a game that should trump them all, as they not just go for sheer quantity of content, but a high quality too.
Priced at £39.99 for the Standard Edition and £49.99 for the Fully Loaded Edition (base game, Starter Pack, liveries and 3 months of WRC+), WRC Generations is the latest WRC title to be seen as the official video game of the FIA World Rally Championship, giving players the chance to prove their worth in the cutthroat world of rally racing.
But WRC Generations is more than just a rally racer, seen as the biggest rally game ever made, one that KT Racing are promising to be the ultimate rally experience. That’s some claim too, especially seeing as we’ve been treated to multiple rally affairs over the years.
It is however the very first to work in the new hybrid era of cars, as KT give players the opportunity to take in a host of leagues, to create their own teams and liveries and to enjoy it all with cross-platform support, bringing together players on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC as one.
But it’s the sheer size of WRC Generations which will mostly appeal, with the chance to race across 750km and 165 special stages spread across twenty-two countries. There will be forty-nine teams included from the latest 2022 seasons of Rally1, Rally2 and Junior WRC, whilst no less than thirty-seven of the most legendary cars will be drivable.
In all though, it’s the key features which will mostly sell WRC Generations to a new wave of driver…
- • The new hybrid vehicles
- • New, even more realistic vehicle physics
- • A LEAGUES mode in which you can challenge other players
- • A new Rally Sweden environment with 6 brand-new special stages
- • Share livery and stickers with the community
- • In-game team creation and management
You can grab WRC Generations from the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for £39.99 right now. Further is the chance to take in the Fully Loaded Edition for £49.99. This is on PlayStation and PC too. A Nintendo Switch version of WRC Generations is coming on December 1st 2022.
Stick around for an upcoming review.
2022 will see the WRC transition to the hybrid era. This is a revolution for the rally world, significantly affecting performance, changing strategies and making drivers and teams adapt. In terms of gameplay, new mechanics have been integrated to represent the demands of the hybrid engines. In order to win, you have to carefully manage your battery by adapting your engine mapping throughout the special stages you take part in. As community satisfaction is always a priority , you can now share customised livery and stickers with other players. The best creations will be rewarded and highlighted. For fans of competition, the new Leagues mode lets players challenge opponents with a similar level online. Finish ahead of your competitors to move up the ladder in the Legends category.
