Sometimes there is nothing better than kicking back with a proper old skool SHMUP in tow and now that STURMWIND EX is available to purchase and download on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, it’s time to start reliving the glory years of gaming.
Priced up at £10.74, STURMWIND EX comes from the b-alive team to provide plenty of retro shoot ’em up action, working your way through 16 levels of missionmode to prove you still have what it takes to succeed. Shooting everything that moves, as fast and as precisely as you can is the name of the game, and with various weapons, drones and superweapons to hand, firing off the odd bullet of two will never get old.
Throw in over 20 huge bosses, hundreds of standard enemy types, and the opportunity to run across a few difficulty levels, and things just get better still. What’s more, once that missionmode is complete, an arcademode can still be found sitting around and beckoning you in to its 6 stages of bullet-hell – just don’t expect any continues in there.
