Is August 2021 the best Xbox Games With Gold month of the year?

August is pretty much here and that signals the start of gaming silly season, with all manner of triple-A and indie titles due to launch over the next few months. But if your wallet can’t stretch enough to allow for such gaming opportunities, there is another way to ensure you can take in some new experiences – the Xbox Games With Gold scheme. August 2021 will be no different in terms of Games With Gold, with the 4 free Xbox games coming our way now completely confirmed – and this time around we’re seeing some decent quality thrown out through Games With Gold too.

July was a pretty decent month to be an Xbox gamer looking to grab a freebie or two, with the likes of Planet Alpha, Conker and Rock of Ages headlining the last few weeks. Now though it’s time to look ahead to August’s Games With Gold goodies and once more we discover four titles being stripped of their price tags for a good few weeks. The games on offer are very interesting too, pretty much making this coming month’s freebies the best of 2021 so far.

Should you be the proud holder of an Xbox Live Gold subscription (and if you’re not, why not!?), you’ll find all of the following games going free throughout the next month or so. All you need to do is head to the Xbox Store within the dates given and take home your free download. Whether you play the game right away, or save it up for a rainy day, is totally up to you. 

But anyhows, the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for August 2021 will be as follows…

• Darksiders III – 1st-31st August 2021
• Yooka-Laylee – 16th August – 15th September 2021
• Lost Planet 3 – 1st-15th August 2021
• Garou: Mark of the Wolves – 16th-31st August 2021

Of course, this means that time is fast running out for you to get your free downloads of July’s titles. if you haven’t yet picked any of those up, we advise you get to it asap.
