It’s fair to say that PlateUp! has gone down an absolute storm on PC. But now it’s time for Game Pass, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation players to get involved in the cooking and management roguelike.

Having landed on PC in 2022, PlateUp! has gathered up some 1.5 million sales on Steam, nailing near 12,000 Overwhelmingly Positive reviews in the process. Having come about as a passion project built from the pandemic, it’s a game that has fast proven itself to be right up there with the leaders of the genre.

PlateUp! is now on Game Pass

Now PlateUp! comes to Game Pass and Xbox. It’s also on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch if you would prefer. It allows a whole new wave of players to indulge in some culinary chaos, as they go about managing a number of restaurant to the best of their ability. But obviously this won’t be easy – chaos will ensue.

Whether it be solo, via couch cooperative play or through the online services, PlateUp! promises much. How you go about that restaurant managing is up to you too – will you focus on the cooking, the serving, or the upgrading of your gaff in hope to drag in more customers. There’s a ton going on in PlateUp! as it comes to Game Pass and Xbox.

The dev tells more

If you want to know more, you’d do well to check out our exclusive interview with the creator of PlateUp! – Alastair Janse van Rensburg.

“I’m absolutely stunned that what started out as a labour of love project to enjoy with my friends has turned into such a huge global hit,” says Alastair Janse van Rensburg, creator, PlateUp! “It’s been genuinely humbling seeing such a consistent overwhelmingly positive reaction from PC players since launch. I cannot wait to welcome console players into the PlateUp! universe – and promise you there is still a lot more good stuff to come.”

Play PlateUp! on console now

PlateUp! is available on the usual digital stores. For us, it’s the Xbox Store that provides access to PlateUp! on Game Pass, playable on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. If you don’t have a Game Pass subscription (why not?), you’ll need to pay the £16.74 asking price.

Alternatively, PlateUp! is present on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Stick around for our upcoming review of PlateUp! on Game Pass and Xbox.

PlateUp! Description

PlateUp! combines chaotic kitchen and restaurant management with strategic planning and development to create a delightful roguelite dish unlike any other.

Up to four players build and run a restaurant from scratch, choosing dishes, buying and placing appliances – some of which can be daisy-chained together to create ambitious automatic kitchens – cooking food and serving customers.

Players have free rein to design their restaurant which will expand and develop between shifts – with additional content and challenges unlocked through progression.

Can you cook, serve and manage your way through 15 hectic days in your restaurant and unlock a brand-new franchise?
