After years on the big screen, the slasher has returned once more. It’s time to head back to Camp Crystal Lake as Friday the 13th: The Game brings back cult classic slasher Jason Vorhees once more, with players taking on the role of either one of the seven counsellors or the masked madman himself.
Available now, Friday 13th: The game is an asymmetrical multiplayer title with a single player element expected later this year. Each game will take place around an iconic location from the films, with players doing everything possible to either hunt down the teens or indeed maim the deadly Jason Vorhees.
The game is set in a semi open-world environment in the fictional Camp Crystal Lake during the 1980’s which is sure to grab the feeling given off by the many original films. As seen in previous gameplay demos, players controlling the killer will have heightened hearing and vision and will also be able to teleport to certain locations. As for those trying to survive, it will come down to teamwork, learning the area and clever use of stealth and weaponry that can be found located around the camp.
Those wishing to get involved can do so on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC and will be able to do so for the price of £31.99/$39.99. The Xbox Games Store will sort us Xbox One players out.
