KEMCO release ANOTHER retro RPG to the lands of PC and console

-

Genso Chronicles Keyart
Genso Chronicles is on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC

If you’re at all familiar with the retro RPG scene, then you’ll know all about the multitude of games the KEMCO team have dished up in recent years. But there’s plenty more from KEMCO HQ, with the latest being that of Genso Chronicles.

We’ve long lost count of the sheer number of KEMCO games present on the Xbox Store. But seeing as they dropped a 50-game bundle a few months back, and have continued to push out new games from there on out, we’d not be surprised if they are fast approaching triple figures.

More KEMCO RPGing

That’s not a bad thing though as we like a bit of the magic KEMCO bring to the table. Yes, games are always extremely familiar, and rarely do they ever really break the mould, but they do a job and fill the hours. We’d hazard a guess at Genso Chronicles doing just that. Stick around for our full review soon though.

Genso Chronicles is priced at £12.49 from the Xbox Store (again, familiar pricing for KEMCO), playable across Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. There’s even Series X optimisation in house for those looking for it. You’ll also find Genso Chronicles on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC if you prefer.

Dive in and you’ll discover a narrative focusing on Light; a citizen of Selka Village, left to be their last protector. The problem is, as Light was off out hunting – fishing probably, everyone loves fishing – their village is overrun, taken down. With the calls of a guardian beast ringing in the ears, a journey of revenge awaits.

In Genso Chronicles you’ll be found doing the usual – making friends, forging connections, utilising skills and materials, taking in battles. Whatever needs doing is front and centre of the journey to restore Light’s fate.

Genso Chronicles is on the Xbox Store right now. Go and grab a download if you fancy a bit more KEMCO. You’ll also find it on PlayStation, Switch and PC.

Genso Chronicles Description

Embark on a journey with Light, a resident of Selka Village, who, after joining the coveted Holos Over military, vows to protect his village. However, during a mission, the village falls prey to an unknown assailant, leaving it in ruins. In despair, Light hears the call of a guardian beast. To gain strength, Light follows the words of the guardian beast and fulfills a mystical contract.

Forge deep connections with your comrades and guardian beasts. The stronger the bond, the more the guardian beasts unleash their power, enhancing collaboration with allies. The strength of these bonds can even influence the course of in-game events.

Discover materials scattered across the field for forging and strengthening. Strengthen your weapons and armor by using these materials. Acquire forging books through missions or guild tasks, unlocking new variations for enhancements. Occasionally, this process may yield powerful weapons, adding a strategic layer to your arsenal.

Immerse yourself in a captivating world where bonds shape destiny, and strategic enhancements forge a path to victory. Will you answer the call of the guardian beasts and restore Light’s fate? Join the adventure now!
