It’s all well and good playing your graphically intense racers, hard and fast shooters, and deep 200 hour long journeys across the wasteland. But sometimes, just sometimes, you will want a quick gaming hit that only those from yesteryear can deliver – and with the announcement that Antstream is today launching it’s Kickstarter campaign to deliver retro streaming goodness to Xbox One, PC and mobile devices, that quick gaming hit may soon be easier than ever.

Coming out of the Kickstarter blocks, we find Antstream promising to deliver a retro streaming platform that will deal with the largest ever collection of retro classics when it launches in Beta form on Xbox One, PS4 and mobile later this year.

Providing early access from May 2019, those backers of Antstream will find themselves thrown onto the first cloud gaming platform that is entirely dedicated to the retro scene.

The crowdfunding campaign will run until the 10th of May, giving backers exclusive early access to Antstream at the end of May 2019, before hitting into a beta stage later in 2019 on PC (Windows and Mac), Xbox One, and mobile devices.

But should funding by successful, what will it offer? Well, how about the chance to instantly and seamlessly play over 400 gaming classics – with many more licensed titles to be added soon after – as decades of gaming goodies are carefully put together into one big bundle. This will see carefully curated titles from the ‘70’s, ‘80’s and ‘90’s instantly at your fingertips, and signing up to Antstream will allow all retro fans to enjoy fully licensed gaming gems such as Ikari Warriors, Joe & Mac, California Games, Zool and Double Dragon – all without the need for massive downloads or fiddly emulators.

This can all come about thanks to taking advantage of the latest technology in cloud-based gaming, and embracing Antstream will be as simple as installing the app, creating an account, picking a game, and playing!

What’s more though, is the fact that Antstream are not quite done there, and thanks to their unique multiplayer challenge system you will find a whole new and exciting twist added to some of the most iconic games ever created. This will allow the chance for gamers to challenge their friends to Score Attacks, Speed Runs and Boss Rushes amongst others.

“After nearly four years of development and licensing these celebrated games, we are confident that Anstream will be the retro gaming experience that we have strived for from the start,” said Steve Cottam, CEO at Antstream. “Our next step in the process is bringing the service to Kickstarter to provide retro fans an opportunity to support us in building an unprecedented library of classic titles. This campaign allows us to provide awesome benefits to early adopters, including early access to Antstream.”

If you like the sound of Antstream, and wish to give it a bit of a backing, then heading over to their Kickstarter page right now is the best course of action. The Kickstarter campaign funds will then be used to expand the library of retro games even further, as well as to give those backers the opportunity to gain early access to play Antstream at the end of May 2019.

As you may expect, there are a whole range of pledges available with significant discounts in place, and each bringing their own exciting reward: lifetime subscription deals, personalized challenges, early access and even the option to add your own retro game to Antstream.

Make sure you check out Antstream right now, with more than 2000 games already acquired for the service, the future is bright. In fact, the future is retro!
