2017 was the year of the NEOGEO port, with a huge number of titles from years gone by making their way to the Xbox One library. One of the most frequent and popular additions were the King of Fighters games, with numerous entries popping up. Now though, we are here in 2018 and the NEO games are still dropping, with ACA NEOGEO King of Fighters ’98 the latest to hit.

Available right now on Xbox One, ACA NEOGEO King of Fighters ’98 is the fifth KOF game to arrive on Xbox One. First released back in 1998 (obviously), this next installment in the series was created as a dream match for the KOF series.

With leaderboards now in place, and the option to mix up the games’ difficulty, if you wish to take in what was known as one of the better King of Fighters titles, then you can do so. Considerable balance changes ensured that this was the go-to KOF fighter for the late ’90s.

It’s comes priced at the usual NEOGEO £6.39 and the Microsoft Store will let you in on a download. Don’t forget to let us know if you decide to pick it up.

Game Description:

THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’98 is a fighting game released by SNK in 1998. In the previous installment KOF’ 97, the story of the “Orochi Saga” reached its exciting conclusion. As a result, the next entry in the series THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’98 was released as a dream match version of THE KING OF FIGHTERS Series. It is one of the most popular and well known versions of the game, partially thanks to the many balance changes that received high praise from fans around the world. The “ACA NEOGEO” series has faithfully reproduced many classic NEOGEO masterpieces. Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time. Players can also compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores. Please enjoy the masterpiece that built a generation for video games.
