SHAQ FU. Two short words which signal the return of a basketball legend and very soon we’ll be seeing that legend drop on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC – both digitally, and physically.
Announced today by Saber Interactive and their publisher, Wired Productions, Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn will be hitting a console or PC near you in Spring 2018, and no matter whether you are embracing the digital revolution, or prefer to take a trip to the shops in order to grab a proper disc, you should well be sorted.
Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn promises to deliver an intense, action-packed beat ‘em up experience which sees players take on the role of, yep you guessed it, the unstoppable Shaquille O’Neal. Prepare to jump into the rather large shoes of Shaq as he fights his way through the hordes of hell and Hollywood, mastering devastating combos, battling outlandish celebrity bosses and taking on all comers with an array of weapons, including katanas, shuriken and baseball bats.
You’ll get the chance to channel Shaq’s alter egos – Big Daddy O and Big Diesel – as you take in epic battles in the successor to the worst game ever, whilst on a mission to restore Shaq’s legacy.
“We know diehard fans have been waiting eagerly to experience the hard-hitting action of this new take on Shaq Fu, and we’re excited to team up with Wired Productions to get the game physically into the hands of players this spring,” said Saber CEO Matt Karch.
Leo Zullo, Managing Director at Wired Productions, commented, “Shaq Fu has an incredible legacy in the history of video games, and we’re delighted to be part of the team shooting to earn Shaq his place in the future of video games.”
As soon as a concrete release date is known, we’ll pass the news on, but if you’re a fan of Shaq, and have access to an Xbox One, PS4, Switch or PC, then you’ll want to keep your eyes open for this one. What’s more, anyone who purchased NBA Playgrounds on Nintendo Switch prior to June 10, 2017, will receive a free copy of Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn upon release.
