In terms of motorsport, you can’t get bigger than F1. Technologically rich, full of glamour and running with enough glitz to ensure any party would roll on for months on end, if you like motorsport, then you probably like F1.

But in recent years the whole vibe surrounding the greatest vehicular based sport the world has seen has been one of a downer. Races were predictable, the money spent was getting out of control and the general public started to turn away.

Thank god for F1 2018 then because not only has the sport moved on in technological terms, but the racing is tight, the championship race is tighter and the fans are flocking back. Seems like a great time for Codemasters to really knock one out of the park with the videogame version of F1 2018 then eh!?

And it is that game which is now available, allowing any petrolhead dreamer to live out their fantasies in the guise of Lewis Hamilton, Seb Vettel or the current golden boy – Max Verstappen. You gotta remember, the future is orange.

With all the official drivers, teams and circuits in place, F1 2018 is promising to let you make headlines as you hit the grid and go wheel-to-wheel with your competitors in the quest for stardom. A deep career mode is promised and this will no doubt be the go-to place for many to live out those dreams. But with media duties to take care of, car setups to worry about and the chance to switch teams should results begin to go your way, it’s not just going to be about driving the car.

Throw in the chance to hop behind the wheel of no less than 20 iconic racing machines from years gone by and it’s both quick and easy to understand how F1 2018 has become such a draw. Yes, it may not have the open world of the Horizon racing series, you may not be able to hoon it around like in WRC, and the sheer number of cars present in the Forza Motorsport series dwarfs the few available here, but for sheer pace and the thrill of the race, there is possibly nothing better than F1 2018.
