Sure Footing first launched on PC way back in 2018, but judging by the Steam reviews, it fell away with divisive thoughts. Now though Table Flip Games are moving to the console market in hope that their cute little infinite runner can find a home, with Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players now able to enjoy the Play Anywhere madness.

Sure Footing comes to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S with full Xbox Play Anywhere support in tow, meaning that you can go running on Xbox, save your progress and pick things up again on PC. With just a £5.99 price tag attached to the entire experience, there is seemingly much to get involved with now that it’s come to console.

It focuses on the world of Computra, a land that is under threat by the evil Ramrafstar and his little minion, Deletion Dave. It’s here where you come in, playing as one of four unique heroes – Pixel Pete, Polly Polygon, Blip or Plunk – as they attempt to outrun old Dave and find a way to stop Ramrafstar.

As you run you’ll find a host of things to involve yourself with. Obstacles will be plentiful, challenges will keep you on point, the collection of MIPs will allow for a constantly fresh feel and the opportunity to mix up the game speed will ensure things are as easy, or hard, as you wish them to be. With the promise that Sure Footing is capable of mixing both classic platforming action with an infinite endless runner, should you be after an experience that is fast, frantic, and hopefully fun, a purchase should well be on the cards.

Key features include:

  • Four Playable Characters: Play as Pixel Pete, Polly Polygon, Blip and Plunk – each with their own strengths and weaknesses.
  • Visit distant sectors of the world of Computra: Watch out for the weird and wonderful changes these distant sectors bring.
  • Customise Your Loadout: Play it your way with a variety of power-ups and buffs that can give you an edge over Deletion Dave.
  • In-Game Shop: Collect MIPs in-game to unlock customisation options, with over 100 items to unlock! New power-ups, skill buffs and extra costumes for each character.
  • In-Game Challenges: Complete in-game challenges to unlock new items!
  • Play At Your Own Speed: Finding the game too taxing? Or simply not hard enough? Tailor the running pace to suit your playstyle.
  • Leaderboards and Player Stats: See how you compare up against the rest of the Sure Footing community.
  • Multiplayer Challenge Modes: Play challenge modes for two to four players and show your friends how to keep running!

You’ll find the download of Sure Footing available from the Xbox Store this very minute, with the game playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. There’s also that Steam version if you wish to try and help Table Flip Games build their user reviews.

Let us know what you think of this one. We’ll be sure to bring you our review thoughts as soon as we can.

Game Description:

Sure Footing is a fast and frantic infinite runner about four friends saving their world from extinction. The world of Computra is under threat from the evil Ramrafstar and his ferocious minion Deletion Dave, who seek to destroy the partitions that hold everything together. Play as one of our four heroes: Pixel Pete, Polly Polygon, Blip and Plunk as they outrun Dave across the disk sectors of Computra: to warn their friends and find a way to stop Ramrafstar before their homeworld is destroyed. Collect MIPs, avoid obstacles and overcome the challenges faced in the distant sectors of Computra. Sure Footing blends the best of both classic platforming and infinite runners into a fast and frantic arcade experience.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
