Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last couple of years, you would already know that Konami have created an awesome Metal Gear experience with the release of Ground Zeroes, The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Online. But if you missed out on the games the first time round, and wanted to now get involved, the creation of the Definitive Experience is the way to go.

Bringing together Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Online, plus a selection of downloadable content for each product and a handful of Mother Base currency, the Definitive Experience looks to excite many.

That excitement level goes up ten fold when you take into account the pricing structure, with the £34.99 being asked of it a more than reasonable, very tempting price. Granted, we’d loved to have seen ALL the available content included, and a ‘selection’ slightly disappoints, but we’re happy to look past that this time round.

“METAL GEAR SOLID V has received collectively over 60 industry accolades and awards thus far,” said Tomotada Tashiro, President for Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. “THE DEFINITIVE EXPERIENCE will give players an opportunity to play the complete MGSV experience, without interruption. Additionally, with METAL GEAR ONLINE, players also get access to a completely unique multi-player setting that is designed for a truly engrossing gaming experience as well.”

If you haven’t yet checked out any of the recent Metal Gear titles, and fancy getting involved, then we advise you to wait until October 13th 2016 for the release of the Definitive Experience on Xbox One and PS4. There will also be a Steam version dropping, but pricing and details of that are still to come.

In the meantime, you may as well check out our full review of The Phantom Pain.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
