Mix twin stick shooting and Match-3 puzzling as Transcripted arrives on Xbox One

-

On the whole, twin-stick shooters are great and Match-3 puzzlers are superb. What happens then when you mix the two genres together as one? You get Transcripted!

Available right now on Xbox One, Transcripted comes with a fairly neat little price tag – £6.39 to be precise – and for that you’ll find a game that mixes up two great genres. Not content with just delivering us a decent twin-stick shooter, Alkemi, Seaven Studio and Plug In Digital have thrown in some lovely Match-3 puzzling action.

With a deep story behind it, one that tells of Nano Probes, DNA exploration, infection and control, all wrapped up in 25 core campaign missions, you can be sure that Transcripted will deliver a testing experience.

Should you wish to get involved, then the Xbox Games Store will be able to sort you out. Just head on over there and get your download in. If you wish to know more about the game, and whether or not it is worth the asking price, then our full review will be with you in the days ahead.

Game Description:

Transcripted is a mixture of two incredibly addictive and vastly popular casual gaming styles: the dual-stick shooter and the match three puzzle game. In Transcripted players take control of the Nano Probe, a microscopic apparatus used to combat disease. With the aid of a skill tree that improves ship equipment, health, shields and the Nano Probe’s arsenal of upgradeable weapons, players must successfully navigate through hordes of deadly pathogens to destroy the disease’s pseudo-DNA as it twines perilously on its endless path to infection. Along the way players must defeat gigantic boss colonies the pathogen has evolved with the sole purpose of stopping the Nano Probe from completing its mission. Difficulty levels of both puzzle and shooting segments can be adjusted independently to suit every play style, making Transcripted an amazingly replayable experience through 25 core campaign missions, and 5 Challenge levels for scoring competition.
