Monster Hunter World: Iceborne brings multiple chills and DLC to Xbox One and PS4

Did you manage to become the ultimate Monster Hunter with World back in 2018? Perhaps you did, or perhaps you failed to defeat the mightiest of beasts. Whatever though today brings opportunity to fall back into that lifestyle – just this time as you go about battling the chills of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.

Coming from Capcom and following on from the original Monster Hunter World from a couple of years back, Iceborne allows wannabe monster hunters to take their game to the next level, moving things on from the ending of the base game to deliver new quests, monsters, weapons, armour, and most importantly, story.

Before you embark on this latest wintry journey though, you need to know a few things, namely the fact that in order to make the most of what Iceborne delivers, you’ll have to have completed the base game story and be sitting around as a Level 16 Hunter. While not essential to get a download moving, hitting these prerequisites will ensure you can crack on hunting through the winter, utilising the new Slinger Tool and getting access to whatever weapon updates you may wish for.

Before you get that far though you need to decide upon how you are going to continue the hunt, with multiple options available for those interested in taking in a new adventure. The easiest way – at least if you have the base game to hand – is to grab a download of the £34.99 Iceborne expansion, and it is this which will give full access.

But alongside that we have the Iceborne Digital Deluxe Edition for £41.99, with this including the expansion itself along with the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Deluxe Kit which includes the “Silver Knight” layered armor set, 3 gestures, a couple of sticker sets, a new face paint, a hairstyle and a decor set.

Slightly more expensive is the Master Edition of Iceborne (£49.99) which adds the Yukumo Layered Armor Set to the add-on, with the £57.99 Master Edition Digital Deluxe adding the exact same thing to the standard Digital Deluxe Edition.

That isn’t however it for Iceborne and Capcom have also thrown out a ton of other smaller DLC pieces for hunters to enjoy. The Palico Edit Voucher: Three- Voucher Pack will set you back £5.99, letting you change up the appearance of a Palico three times, with a Two-Voucher and Single Voucher offerings costing £3.99 and £2.39. Further to that the £3.99 Character and Palico Edit Voucher: Single Voucher, £5.99 Two-Voucher and £7.99 Three-Voucher will let you edit your Hunter and Palico once, twice or three times.

There are also Stickers, Poses and Costumes to hand as well. The Monster Statuses Sticker Set comes in at £1.59, as does the Hunter Items Set, with The Handler’s Kokoto Gal’s Costume costing a cheap and cheerful £2.39. Finally and there are also a couple of poses – Pose Set: Crouching (£3.19) and Pose Set: Unique for the same price.

And that is about it for the launch of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and a plethora of content packs for the game on Xbox One and PS4. Hit the links above to be whisked to the relevant Xbox Store pages for each pack, whilst those on PlayStation should head to their own store. If you’re on PC you’ll be finding Iceborne hitting home in January 2020.

Our full review of Monster Hunter: Iceborne will be coming your way soon too. Keep an eye out for it.
