There are a few new games on the horizon in the world of Xbox, with each bringing something entirely different to this week’s offerings. Will you be attempting to survive a dangerous world, putting yourself through a psychological thriller, or going on an anime inspired shooting adventure? Let’s take a look at what’s ‘In Stores This Week’ for Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Metal Gear Survive – 22nd February – Xbox One

Following on from the climax of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Metal Gear Survive sends players through a wormhole and into a dangerously hostile world. Not only must you search for answers, but also forage for food and other resources in order to stay alive. Whether in single player or co-op play, you need to set up a base camp and enhance it using scavenged materials, whilst crafting gear to aid in fighting off any deadly creatures that are lurking about. As this is a spinoff within the Metal Gear world, expect to be introduced to familiar weaponry like Walker Gears and Fulton balloons along the way. Can you manage your resources, grow enough crops and be well equipped to survive long enough to find a way home?

Past Cure – 23rd February – Xbox One

Step into the shoes of a former elite soldier, Ian, who’s struggling with a loss of memories and the effects of experiments endured at the hands of his captors. As a result of their attempts to tap into some hidden power of the mind, he’s been left to handle nightmares, visions and a variety of unstable abilities. On this intense story-driven hunt for revenge, players must use mind-bending powers such as time manipulation and telekinesis to outsmart the enemies. It’s down to you whether you go all out action or take a more stealthy approach, with both proving viable in this crazy world where the line between the nightmarish dreams and real life becomes blurry. Can you figure out who’s behind it all before Ian’s mind is fractured beyond repair?

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet – 23rd February – Xbox One

Based on the Sword Art Online franchise, Fatal Bullet lets you be the hero in the world of Gun Gale Online, interacting with a whole host of recognisable characters like Asuna and Leafa, as well as new ones, whilst wielding badass weapons in this shooter orientated RPG. You’ll have several customisation options for your own personal avatar such as gender, appearance and status (STR, VIT, INT, AGI, DEX and LUK), and these will affect both the combat style and the adventure ahead. The main story takes you through GGO, with one of the focal points revolving around Kirito requesting assistance in conquering a dungeon of the SBC Flügel spaceship. Other modes include Online Battle, where teams compete to cause the most damage to a boss, and Online Cooperative Battle, which relies on a single team of four working together to defeat a boss.

Been gaming casually since the SNES as a youngster but found my true passion for games on the Playstation 1 (the forbidden word ooo). My addiction grew to its pinnacle with the purchase of an Xbox 360 & Xbox Live Service. A recovering GS hunter that will still play literally any game.
