We’re not sure ‘Lovecraftian’ and ‘party’ particularly go hand-in-hand, but that’s not going to stop the RedDeerGames team from giving it a go when they launch Sacrifice Your Friends on console and PC later in 2021.Â
A 1-4 player party brawler that has previously worked the Kickstarter route, Sacrifice Your Friends promises to be nothing but sheer madness as you battle it out with your mates and loved ones across a series of dynamic trap-filled arenas.Â
Coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC later in 2021, it’s all styled with a cute cartoony look, but once you throw in the horror, it’s far from cuddly. In fact, AstroLabe Interactive and RedDeerGames – they previously behind the launches of Under Leaves and Little Mouse’s Encyclopedia – promise that this will be a true challenge of your gaming skills, as the fast, dynamic gameplay and intense battles prepare to hit home.Â
Sacrifice Your Friends will see you making the most of a variety of randomly appearing weapons and a variety of traps, ensuring that the competitors in place here will constantly be on their toes. In fact, stay in one place for too long and you’re sure to be sacrificed.Â
It’s the Lovecraftian style that works for us though and with the Mountain of Madness and Nameless City present, fans of the Lovecraft way will be at home here. A full story mode will see you and your friends taking in a host of locations inspired by the writer’s most famous novels, whilst a smattering of humour will try and switch up the tone whenever it can. With a solo mode present and both local and online options in play, we’re pretty sure there should be no reason to not Sacrifice Your Friends later this year.Â
Key features include:
