Resetail looks to reset the 2D platforming genre

Resetail is on Xbox

Resetail. A simple 2D platformer, yes? Well, yes. But no, as this one comes with a twist. What is confirmed is that it is now available to download and play on Xbox.

Available as the latest from the Weakfish Studios team, Resetail is the creation of those at 909games. We’ve seen this developer/publisher partnership previously with other little indie games that have popped up onto the Xbox Store. Perhaps none have been as ‘intriguing’ as this one though.

A new 2D platformer – with a twist

Resetail will set you back just £4.19 in cash. From there, you’ll be able to play on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, taking in the 2D platforming joys it promises. And as a 2D platformer, you’ll seemingly be left to work your way across a number of levels, hunting down keys and opening doors.

What could be more simple eh? Well, lots, as it turns out. The stages in Resetail are full of obstacles, traps and other stuff that will look to stop you in your tracks. And it’s here where a key mechanic comes to the fore – the chance to restart at will.

Utilising this, as well as the enemies situated on screen, will see success in Resetail. Anything else should be seen as failure.

Throw in a speedrun mode and, for the price, Resetail should just about have enough to appeal. If you fancy taking a punt, get over to the Xbox Store right now, playing on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S.

Resetail on Xbox Game Description

In this 2D platformer you have to watch out for spikes, obstacles and enemies and make the right moves to find the key to the right door! Overcome the obstacles with extremely fast and comfortable controls and use the restart in the right place to overcome the levels, which is like a mechanic of the game! You can also use the enemies you see around to your advantage to beat the level! Speedrun mode allows players to race against the clock and beat their own records!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
