Remember playing through the scares of Slender: The Arrival the best part of a decade ago? Well, it’s now time to play again – this time with Slender: The Arrival on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. It’s powered by Unreal Engine 5 too.
Available right now on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC is Slender: The Arrival. It has been totally overhauled, updated via Unreal Engine 5. It’s done so through the Blue Isle Studios team, as they re-launch the jump-scare adventure just in time for Halloween.

Priced at £16.74 on the Xbox Store, you won’t be able to play this one on Xbox One. It’s a current-gen only affair, making the most of the power of Unreal Engine 5.
As you would expect to hear, this is the official video game of the Slender Man. And that’s something that has been terrifying folk for years gone by. Now though it comes with all new features, bulked out from anything before it.
There’s obviously the graphical overhaul that is in place. But there’s also a new chapter, various language support and the opportunity to take in the original version too.
Key overhaul features
- Complete visual overhaul; every shadow, every material, every model and hair-raising encounter with the mysterious Slender Man is re-rendered in stunning detail
- A brand new chapter; those of you willing to brave the darkness will find a new story where Charlie Matheson’s father experiences his worst nightmare, will you make it out with your sanity intact?
- Multiple language support; redesigned pickups, readables and newly added subtitles ensure the horror can be experienced for the first time in multiple languages
- Play the original version too; this purchase comes with a free version of the original experience, enjoy the original graphics, or experience the horror in all-new detail
There’s more planned too though. Whilst we don’t fully understand the reasons behind it, and would have preferred Blue Isle to hold in order to deliver the most complete version, an extended Slenderman storyline, multiplayer, and cross-platform modding (via CurseForge Studios and Overwolf), are all slated to add to the game in Q2 2024.
There’s a roadmap awaiting
Those roadmap features include:
- Multiplayer: No more being alone – now you can face the darkness together in cooperative multiplayer. Team up with friends, look for clues and work together to get out alive!
- Cross Platform Mod Kit: Create your own scenarios and share them on all platforms (PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S). Create single or multiplayer experiences and online scenarios using the same tools featured in the 10th Anniversary update including, AI, environment art, sound effects and most everything used by Blue Isle Studios designers. Create new stories and experiences to the current mythos of Slender and share your nightmarish creations with other players.
- The Story Continues: Discover new chapters of Slender: The Arrival through a fresh DLC expansion that will contain three original chapters. Explore never before seen regions, meet new characters, and survive unbelievable horrors!

For now though you can get in on the adventure present. The Xbox Store will sort you out with an Xbox Series X|S download of Slender: The Arrivial. PlayStation 5 and PC players should also be able to get in on the action.
