It’s been 5 years in the making, but finally it’s time for Gossamer Games to deliver their surreal adventure game to the world, with a release of Sole on Xbox One and PC.

Coming about via a crowdfunded Kickstarter campaign, Sole on Xbox One and PC will see you attempting to uncover the hidden secrets of a world which has become lost in a shadow; a world in which YOU play as the only source of light.

Now priced at £12.49, initially we saw Gossamer Games decide to go down the Kickstarter route with Sole, launching the funding campaign back in August 2017 before discovering 268 keen souls were happy to help fund development. Over $16,000 later, things were on course to deliver a product – and that is where we find ourselves today, with a launch of Sole on Xbox One and PC.

Promising to be a rather intriguing adventure, Sole will see you attempting to traverse through uninhabited environments, uncovering the world as you go, and discovering the mysterious past that has taken over. With great cities to restore to life, and the history of a civilisation from years before to uncover, this is an adventure that will surely see you becoming fully immersed.

The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download of Sole on Xbox One, whilst the usual PC offerings (ie, Steam) will do the same on that side of the gaming coin. With the rather lovely water-coloured visuals ready to transport you into a hypnotic dreamlike state, you should really be giving this a whirl Let us know what you think about the arrival of Sole by posting in the comments though – we’d love to hear from you.

Game Description:

Uncover the secrets of a world lost in shadow . . . Sole is a surreal adventure game where you play as the only source of light in a world shrouded in darkness. Wander through uninhabited environments, painting the land with light as you uncover its mysterious past. Explore the remnants of great cities and discover the history of an ancient civilization on your journey to restore life to an abandoned world.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
