Gigantosaurus Dino Sports is coming

What’s the biggest game of 2024? Bet you didn’t think it would be Gigantosaurus: Dino Sports, did you?

Announced via the Outright Games team and Cyber Group Studios is the latest in a line of Gigantosaurus games. It follows on from Gigantosaurus: The Game and Gigantosaurus: Dino Kart of recent years. That game is Gigantosaurus: Dino Sports – and it’s coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Gigantosaurus: Dino Sports is being developed by Infinigon, as the prehistoric sports party game looks set to launch on June 28th 2024.

A new Gigantosaurus adventure

When it drops, you’ll get the opportunity to join Rocky, Mazu, Tiny, Bill and the Guardian Protector himself, Giganto, as they return for an all new hilarious adventure set in the colourful land of Cretacia.

In Gigantosaurus: Dino Sports, the Giganto Games have begun. That means you’ll be able to compete in eight unique challenges inspired by real-life sports, including Stunt Surf, Dino Fruit Blast and Raptors Triathlon. You can play solo, or challenge your family with up to 4-player couch co-op for some enormous fun.

There will be three different game modes too – “Giganto Games”, “Custom” and “Challenge” – this game fits every type of player, whether you’d prefer to play through the Giganto Games’ hilarious story, create your own personalised tournament, or engage in a friendly competition with friends or family.

What’s more, all eight sports can be played in each game mode, with an additional mini-game “Giganto Mayhem” available only in Challenge Mode. This will see players take control of the titular Giganto for the first time ever in a video game.

Dev chat

Stephanie Malham, CEO of Outright Games said: “It is a pleasure to work with our friends at Cyber Group Studios again and return to this world with Gigantosaurus: Dino Sports. The brand has grown so much since our first collaboration in 2020 and likewise, this is our most ambitious Giganto game yet, with dynamic, unique gameplay and a story that feels like an interactive episode for all fans to enjoy.”

Thierry Braille, Vice President Interactive and Videogame Division and Dominique Bourse CEO at Cyber Group Studios said: “We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Outright Games for a third video game in the Gigantosaurus series. While we explored the idea of a sports tournament in one episode of the TV series, we’re really excited to allow fans to experience the fun of the Giganto Games in a friendly competitive and fully interactive game, when Gigantosaurus: Dino Sports releases this summer.”

If you’re unaware of the source material, Gigantosaurus: Dino Sports is based on the successful animated TV series Gigantosaurus, currently streaming worldwide on Disney+ and Netflix and airing internationally on major channels. It’s produced by Cyber Group Studios, and the series now counts three seasons of 156-episodes, running at 11 minutes each, is based on Jonny Duddle’s book published by Bonnier Books UK Ltd, which has sold over 2 million copies worldwide. The animated series follows the adventures of four young dinos – Rocky, Bill, Tiny, and Mazu – as they go on quests to explore their world, face their fears, work together to solve problems, learn more about the mysterious Gigantosaurus himself – and have lots of fun all along the way.

Coming soon!

Gigantosaurus: Dino Sports will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC on June 28th 2024. For now, take in the announcement trailer and then hold tight. We’ll let you know once it is time to get involved in some Dino Sports.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
