What were you doing back in 2002? Chances are you still wouldn’t have even been born, but for those of us who are a bit longer in the tooth, we felt the arrival of one Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter on the original Xbox and PS2. Today, some 17 years later, that game goes free on Xbox, and all thanks to the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for November 2019.
Available to grab for absolutely no outlay, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter is playable on both Xbox One and Xbox 360, after originally launching on the OG Xbox from way back in the day.
Usually priced at £8.99, should you have a valid Xbox Live Gold membership then you can now download Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter for nothing, and provided you action a download prior to the middle of November, will find it hitting your digital library forever more.
But what is this Jedi Starfighter that we speak of? Well, whilst the next Star Wars blockbuster is getting ready to hit cinema screens the globe over, and EA prepare to drop another Star Wars title to Xbox One, PS4 and PC in the form of Star wars Jedi: Fallen Order later in the month, Starfighter will see you heading into the Battle of Geonosis, controlling a variety of star fighters and attempting to protect your allies, whilst taking down all and any foes.
With a ton of weaponry at hand, Force weapons to enjoy, if you enjoyed the game first time around then getting involved once more here and now in 2019 may well be a route to take. The download of Starfighter to a more modern gamer may well be a tougher sell though – remember, this is a game getting on for two decades in age – but if you’re up for a challenge and wish to prepare for the next Star Wars experience, for free, it could well be worth a shot.
As always, to get access just pop over to the Xbox Store, wave your Xbox Live Gold membership and nab that download.
