Whilst we’ve known for quite a long time that the popular open-world survival adventure sim DayZ would be arriving on Xbox One, information on when has been all too distant for a while. That was of course until this past week’s Inside Xbox conference at Gamescom in which the release date was finally revealed and now it’s actually here!

The game takes place in the post-soviet country of Chernarus after an unknown virus spreads across the land, turning the majority of its population into frenzied, cannibalistic infected. With resources limited, survivors turning hostile and the difference between life and death dependant on your very actions, it’s up to you to do whatever it takes to survive as one of the few immune survivors of the unknown virus.

Those wanting to get involved with DayZ can do so now for the price of £31.99 by heading on over to the Game Preview section of the Microsoft Store. If you’d prefer to try out this latest survival adventure before laying down the cash however, there is also a trial available to download which gives players full access to the game for a 1-hour period.
