It originally released on PS2 way back in 2001, before arriving on Xbox a year later, gathering up critical acclaim and a cult following the world over. Now though Capcom are bringing Onimusha: Warlords back and right now a whole new generation of gamers can experience the classic samurai adventure.
Available on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC, Onimusha: Warlords promises to blend together thrilling action with a cinematic narrative – just this time with a host of high-def visuals, widescreen display options, analog stick support, a new soundtrack and, thankfully, an easy mode will be available.
Following the tale of samurai Samanosuke Akechi and ninja Kaede, you’ll be thrust into a quest of saving the Princess Yuki from a horde of demons. The adventure ahead will be a tough one though and as you join the duo on their travels will uncover a malevolent plot created by those serving the evil Nobunga Oda.
It will only be by utilising sword based combat, relying on the magical Oni Gauntlet and by partaking in numerous puzzle solving opportunities, will you be able to take down the demonic foes ahead.
This remastered version of Onimusha: Warlords on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC won’t just appeal to fans of the original game though and with the numerous additions that Capcom have dropped in, those who missed out first time around will hopefully find something hugely enjoyable.
The addition of HD visuals is a gimme, whilst the inclusion of support for widescreen gaming is much appreciated. Switching between 4:3 and 16:9 settings is more than doable.
You can also throw in a new Easy Mode which is available from the very start of Onimusha: Warlords, making things easier for the newcomers or those who last played the game some 18 years ago. This is complemented by the arrival of a new soundtrack and support for the now-standard analog stick.
If you wish to get involved in taking down demons with a bit of Onimusha: Warlords on Xbox One then you can find it available right now from the Xbox Store for ÂŁ15.99. Those preferring to play the game on PS4, Nintendo Switch or PC should visit their own stores.
