Open Roads is now on Game Pass, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC

If the Annapurna Interactive name is behind something, its generally pretty damn decent. Hopes are high then as Open Roads allows us to take in a Game Pass, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC road trip.

A road trip like no other

Available right now to download from the usual digital stores is Open Roads. This is a tale in which you’ll get to experience the story of 16-year-old Tess Devine. Tess is on a road trip with her mother, Opal, as they hope to discover what has been left behind in evocative places forgotten to time.

It’s here where you’ll join the duo as together you explore a series of long-abandoned family properties. But, as with many video games, that means unearthing a mystery much darker than either of them imagined. And it’s not helped by the fact that Opal and Tess’s relationship has never been easy; in their search they’ll discover not just the truth they’ve been seeking, but each other.

Open Roads stars Golden Globe award-winning and Emmy Award-nominated actor Keri Russell (“The Americans,”Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker,”) and Golden Globe award-nominated actor Kaitlyn Dever (“Booksmart,”Uncharted 4”).

Play now on Game Pass

A road trip like no other, Open Roads will be best played through your Game Pass subscription. Grabbed from the Xbox Store, we’d say this is about as close to a no-brainer as you are ever likely to get. But if not, paying up and splashing the cash should well be considered too. Open Roads is priced at £16.74 from the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (optimised) or PC.

Alternatively, you will find this one on the stores of PlayStation and Nintendo Switch too.

Take a look at the launch trailer below and you’ll get eyes on a beautiful adventure. Merging first person environments with hand-animated characters means Open Roads looks to provide an extremely unique tale. Stay tuned for our full review. In the meantime, drop your Open Roads thoughts into the comments.

Open Roads Description

One fine fall day, Tess Devine and her mother, Opal, discover a cache of old notes and letters carefully stashed away in the attic of their house. Hints of deep-rooted family secrets, decades-old burglaries, a lost treasure somewhere near the Canadian border… What they uncover suggests a much darker mystery, best left well enough alone. But that’s not going to happen.
