Take in the hide-and-seek horror of Yuoni on Xbox

Already available on PlayStation and PC, the hide-and-seek horror of Yuoni has now hit Xbox.

Coming from Chorus Worldwide (they behind the push of the brilliant Coffee Talk) after having been created by the Japanese team at Tricore Inc, Yuoni is a terrifying sunset-stained first-person narrative horror in which you have three choices. You can hide. You can run. Or, you can die. Your call.

Priced at £16.99 and available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S (optimised for X|S no less), Yuoni has you playing ass Ai, a grade-schooler in 1990s Japan. It is she who will soon face her new reality – that of being taken on from a living ghost story in which the sun never sets and otherworldly beings hunt her down.

What this turns into is a game of hide-and-seek, as you look to stay in touch with the tale of friendship, betrayal and the darkest of demons. It doesn’t promise to be a walk in the park, but what Yuoni should do is deliver you a gaming experience which is firmly dictated by your memory, your smarts and the ability to hold your breath when in hiding. Oh, and the ability to run for your life, too.

The key features include:

  • Weave your way through beautiful, sunset-stained environments in 1990s Japan.
  • Unravel a chilling horror tale from the perspective of the tough, but vulnerable Ai.
  • Play a deadly game of hide-and-seek with otherworldly entities.
  • Learn each spirit’s weakness to survive. Hide, run, or die.
  • Reach the conclusion to reveal a second path through Yuoni. Slip back into Ai’s horror and face more challenging foes for even greater reward…

If you’re up for taking a trip to 1990s Japan and reckon Yuoni is going to be one for you, head on over to the Xbox Store and pick up a copy of the game on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. Alternatively, PS4, PS5 and PC options are also available.

Game Description:

Ai is a grade-schooler in 1990s Japan who is about to realise just how isolated she is. Forced to play children’s games in a world of never-ending dusk, Ai is hunted by otherworldly entities as her life hangs in the balance. When these horrors begin to bleed into the real world, Ai must accept that she has only three choices: hide, run, or die.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
