Take on the Romans as Wulverblade slashes its way to Xbox One

-

Beat ’em ups have been around for decades, but the latest take on the genre brings something a little different. Not only do we get the chance to take on the Romans at their own game, but Wulverblade promises to teach us a thing or two in the process. The best thing about it? Well, not only is it very good, but it’s now available on Xbox One!

Available right now for £11.99, Wulverblade has appeared on Xbox One to now allow all gamers the chance to battle it out with Roman waves. After arriving on PC and PS4 a day earlier, if you’re looking for a modern day beat ’em up which stays true to the genre but still brings enough draw to keep us occupied, then this is it.

Inspired by the likes of Golden Axe, you’ll be tasked with either going it alone – or teaming up with a local co-op friend – as you show the Ninth Legion exactly what you’re made of. Hacking, slashing, beating and decapitating is all par for the course in a game that delivers an utterly stunning visual style, an equally good musical soundtrack and plenty of replayability thanks to some cleverly hidden secrets.

But Wulverblade isn’t just about taking heads off and hidden amongst the brilliant story are educational points that ooze quality. Our full review will tell you more about the game, but whether you’re a beat ’em up gamer looking for a new fix, an historian looking to learn or just your every day casual player looking for a good time, then Wulverblade delivers.

Read that review of ours, then get yourself over to the Microsoft Store immediately.
