Team17 add Yoku’s Island Express to their games label. Set for release on Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC.

You can always rely on Team17 to uncover the next indie gaming gem and today they’ve made the announcement that Yoku’s Island Express has been added to their label. Chances of it therefore being pretty good? Damn high!

Teaming up with Swedish developer Villa Gorilla, Team17 will be bringing Yoku’s Island Express to multiple platforms in 2018. A beautiful pinball platformer, Yoku’s Island Express will see you flipping and bumping a new hero, Yoku the Dung Beetle, around a stunning hand painted island in his quest to rebuild the world which has been plagued by quakes and storms.

You’ll need to traverse the island using a combination of pinball mechanics and open world exploration, as Yoku’s Island Express attempts to deliver an amazing quest to help those in need.

“With Team17 we’ve found a publishing partner that cherishes innovation and style – something we recognized way back when we played Alien Breed on our Amigas. We feel that their commitment to quality and fun gameplay is a perfect match for us, and we are incredibly excited to be working with Debbie and the team to finish and release Yoku’s Island Express.” said Jens Andersson, Co-Founder of Villa Gorilla

Debbie Bestwick, MBE, CEO of Team17 added, “Yoku’s Island Express has such a beautiful, distinct style with a unique twist on the platform genre. It’s a true gem, we’re looking forward to working with the very talented Villa Gorilla and welcome them to our growing games label family.”

Yoku’s Island Express will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC at some point in 2018. That may seem a little way off, but with Team17’s track record behind it, it is most definitely one to keep an eye on.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
